Minnesota school bus crash: 'Mass casualties' as bus carrying 20 kids overturns in town of Hibbing

A school bus with at least 20 kids on board has overturned in Minnesota.

Twelve children have been rushed to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries following the crash outside the city of Hibbing, Northern News Now reports.

A car T-boned the St. Louis County School District vehicle on Town Line Road and Hwy. 5 at 7.49am.

The motorist was airlifted to the Virginia hospital with serious injuries. The bus driver was also transported to hospital, but his condition is not yet known.

Sheriff Gordon Ramsay said the impact caused the bus to roll between Hibbing and Cherry. No fatalities have been reported at this time.

St. Louis County Schools Superintendent Dr. Reggie Engebritson told WDIO that the bus was from a Cherry school. 

It is not known how old the students on the bus were but they ranged in ages.
