Venue of the final
[edit]Originally proposed at Wikidata:Property proposal/Sports

Description | I thought to such property for the items related to a single edition of a tournament that has a single game final (grand final or whatsoever). It should indicate the venue of that match and should have at least as qualifier location (P276) |

Motivation
[edit]The items related to the [editions of] sports tournaments with a single-match final game lack a property that indicates both the venue and the place where that venue is located. The aim of such property should be to indicate the venue and, as qualifier, its location (location (P276)). -- Blackcat (talk) 13:45, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
Discussion
[edit]- Oppose Use final event (P3967).--GZWDer (talk) 16:11, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
- @GZWDer: final event (P3967) doesn't fit the need, it's useless and cumbersome for that purpose. It involves creating a new page that not every project has necessarily. There should be a single property to use in the edition's item. -- Blackcat (talk) 17:24, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
- The practice in Wikidata is create new items (which do not need to have any sitelink) if required.--GZWDer (talk) 17:30, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
- the practice must be to do things simple, not cumbersome. Yours is not a fitting answer to the question. -- Blackcat (talk) 17:31, 15 March 2020 (UTC)

- Not done this property is not needed. As GZWDer pointed out above, final event (P3967) can be used. Furthermore, there are other ways to do this. For the example 1990 FIFA World Cup (Q132529) → Stadio Olimpico (Q159884), you can use the location (P276) statement with applies to part (P518) as a qualifier, or final event (P3967) with location (P276) as a qualifier. --DannyS712 (talk) 01:20, 23 March 2020 (UTC)
- That's an intelligent point, @DannyS712:, thanks. -- Blackcat (talk) 21:17, 25 March 2020 (UTC)
