🔔 🎉 Just shipped at Buffer: New TikTok and YouTube Shorts scheduling options. This addresses a big pain point: being able to add native effects like music and stickers to pre-scheduled videos. Now, when you're scheduling to TikTok or YouTube, you have two options: 1. Automatic ⚙️ 2. Notify Me 📲 With the Notify Me option, you’ll get a mobile notification when it's time to post with everything you need to complete the post yourself. It gives you the best of both worlds; Buffer's powerful planning and scheduling features combined with TikTok and YouTube's native editing tools.

This week at Buffer we're running an experiment: no meetings. Instead of meetings, we're leaning into long-form asynchronous communication, coupled with pairing sessions as needed. The hope is this will result in deeper focus, a calmer work environment, more thoughtful reflection and communication, and be more inclusive for all timezones in our global team. It's only the second day of the experiment, but it's already made a big improvement in my work. I personally do my best work between 8 AM and 12 PM, but most of our recurring meetings fall in this window (when there's the most timezone overlap). This comes at quite a cost: not only do I lose my most productive hours, but meetings, especially information-sharing meetings, leave me feeling quite drained. In contrast, pairing is energizing, and I've already had much more productive mornings with deep work. How much waste and non-value adding activities do meetings create? How much potential productivity is readily available? I'm excited for the rest of this experiment and to learn what the full team's experience is.

This chart makes me exceptionally proud. I joined Buffer nearly three years ago when our business was in a multi-year decline post-COVID. Signups were falling, customers weren't converting at the same rate, and MRR was shrinking. Many growth practitioners would be weary of joining a bootstrapped company when growth isn't happening (who doesn't want to ride a rocketship?), but working with Buffer felt like the ultimate opportunity for me to join a company I've respected for a long time. I've been a huge Buffer fan for many years now, having used the product all the way back in my agency days. Buffer has always impressed me with its incredible product, well-loved brand, and great team. It has all the necessary pieces to succeed. Over the last 3 years, we've diligently been making the right investments across product, marketing, and growth that have allowed us to turn our ship around - on our own terms. We're now in our 8th consecutive month of growth and our 5th consecutive month of profitability after a season of decline. Seeing this slide in our company All Hands last week made me incredibly proud of what our small team has accomplished together. #growthmarketing #growth #saas #PLG

Senior Product Marketing Manager at Buffer

What metrics do I track as a product marketer at Buffer? As a general rule, I think showing is better than telling. So here is the *actual* dashboard I use in Mixpanel. 👀 It's broken down into four sections: 1) Marketing Site · Pages with the highest traffic · Top page conversion rates This section helps me understand which marketing site pages we should focus on optimizing. 2) Signups · Signup trend over time · Web vs mobile clients · Signup sources This section is a higher-level view of acquisition performance. Our growth team has much more granular dashboards but this one provides helpful context for planning and prioritization. 3) Product Usage · Top product actions · Key action trends over time · Channel connections and usage This section tells me which features are most popular and which integrations are trending up or down. It helps me choose the features to showcase to our audience. 4) Product Emails · Which emails have the most opens · Which emails have the most unsubscribes Email notifications are an important part of our product (we send millions of emails each month) and this section helps me keep tabs on performance. And that's it! If you have any questions about the dashboard I'd love to hear them. Or if you have your own dashboard to share, I'm keen to see it!
