Jetpack Stats Plan: Free or Paid

Depending on your site’s nature and business activities, you may qualify for a free Jetpack Stats plan or you might need to upgrade to a paid license.

Free access to Jetpack Stats is available on personal, non-commercial sites only. Commercial sites require a paid subscription. If you have a Jetpack Complete plan, the Stats plan is included.

Understanding what makes a site commercial

A commercial site is a website with activities that aim to make money. This could be through advertising or affiliate links, selling products or services, soliciting donations or sponsorships, or any other means directly related to any business or organization. You will need a paid Jetpack Stats plan if your site has any of these.

Benefits of a paid subscription

The Jetpack Stats paid subscription includes features like priority customer support and advanced features such as UTM and Devices Stats.

What you pay for Jetpack Stats will depend on how much traffic your site gets. Read more about Tiered Billing.

Commercial sites

Depending on your commercial site’s traffic, you’ll have different access to the Stats features:

  • Sites with more than a thousand monthly views will be limited to 7-day highlights and 7-day traffic charts. All other Stats modules are hidden until the purchase of a commercial Stats plan.
  • Sites with less than a thousand monthly views will have access to the full dashboard, with only the advanced modules hidden.

Non-commercial sites

Non-commercial sites require a Non-commercial Jetpack Stats plan. With a Non-commercial plan, you will have access to the Jetpack Stats dashboard, with the advanced modules hidden.

To obtain a Non‑commercial Stats plan, your site needs to be classified as non-commercial in our records. If this is not your case, you can dispute your site’s commercial classification.

If you own a non-commercial site but still want to contribute to Jetpack Stats, you can choose the pay-what-you-want option, which is a great way to show your love for Jetpack Stats and help us keep making it better. Any contribution is greatly appreciated!

Obtain a non-commercial Stats plan

To use Jetpack Stats for non-commercial sites with the pay-what-you-want option:

  • Head to https://wordpress.com/stats/purchase/yoursiteURL.
  • Check the boxes that make your site non-commercial.
  • There is a “Your monthly contribution” cursor. Make a contribution toward the service if you would like.
  • As you add our contribution, the Stats features listed above on the page will unblock.
  • When you’re ready to set your price, click the Contribute now and continue button to head to the checkout page.

WooCommerce sites and Stats plans

WooCommerce sites are considered commercial since they are online stores. If you don’t sell anything in your WooCommerce store and want your site to be identified as non-commercial, you must deactivate the WooCommerce plugin altogether. Otherwise, your site will be classified as commercial.

Non-profits and Jetpack Stats

Non-profit organizations that solicit donations, sponsorships, dues, or paid memberships on their website will be required to upgrade to a paid or commercial plan.

Non-profit organizations that do not solicit donations, sponsorships, dues, or memberships on their website can be classified as non-commercial. This means they can pay what they want for Jetpack Stats from their purchase page – see below.

Dispute your commercial classification

If you believe that your website’s commercial classification does not accurately reflect its current activities, you can request a re-evaluation of your site directly from your WordPress.com Dashboard without having to contact support.

Before requesting a reclassification, please ensure you’ve made all necessary changes to remove commercial content from your website to align with our commercial status definition.

Follow these steps to trigger a self-service reclassification of your site’s commercial status:

  1. From the WordPress.com My Sites page, select the site you want to dispute.
  2. Head to the Purchase page of the site.
  3. Click Reverify to initiate the on-demand commercial reclassification process.
  4. You will see a message indicating, “We are verifying your site. Please come back later…”

Reclassification can only be requested once within a 24-hour period. If you attempt to reverify your site within this timeframe, an error message will display: “Error: Sorry, a request for this site was already queued. Please, try again later.”

Therefore, it is advisable to double-check that all updates to your site are complete before requesting re-verification.

Compliance

Please note that non-compliance with these terms can result in immediate suspension of Jetpack Stats services without notice. It is essential for you to correctly identify whether your site is personal or commercial, and select the appropriate plan.
