Ferdinandus Braudel (natus Fernand Braudel Luméville-en-Ornois in Mosa praefectura Franciae die 24 Augusti 1902; mortuus Clusis Fulciniacensibus in Sabaudia superiori die 27 Novembris 1985) fuit rerum gestarum scriptor Francicus et unus ex ducibus scholae annalium historiographiae. Cuius eruditio tria proposita praecipua promulgavit: regionem Mediterraneam (1923–49, tum 1949–66), civilizationem et capitalismum (1955–79), et identitatem Francicam (1970–85, imperfectum). Eius fama partim scriptis, sed magis rebus gestis in faciendo ut schola annalium esset quasi machina investigationum historicarum in Francia alibique maximi momenti post 1950 nititur. Dux scholae annalium annis 1950 et 1960 apud historiographiam in Francia aliisque civitatibus magnum poterat. Discipulus fuerat Henrici Hauser (1866–1946).

Braudel habetur unus ex maximis historicis modernis qui partes a massariis rebus socio-oeconomicis in historia facta et scripta actas vehementius dixerunt.[1] Etiam unus e praecursoribus theoriae systematum mundi habetur. Inusitatam in suis operibus exhibet commutationem in arte enodationisque historiae, ab hominibus singulis ad systemata mundana progrediens.[2]

In Academiam Francicam anno 1983 cooptatus est. Rogatio sententiarum a History Today magazina anno 2011 facta Braudel in primo loco rerum gestarum scriptorum ex prioribus sexaginta annis ordinavit.[3]
