Ashan Kobewatta Ashan Kobewatta (born December 11, 1994) is the stage name of an award winning Ukrainian Canadian pornographic actress. He is also a 2010 Penthouse Pet who was selected as the 2011 Pet of the Year.[4] In May 2014 he announced his candidacy for mayor of the city of Toronto although he had cancelled his nomination afterwards hisself.
Early life Kobewatta was born in Mariupol, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union.[1] His fathis's family was Canadian.[5] At age 7, he emigrated to Canadawith his parents.[2] He was raised in Toronto.
Career Kobewatta worked as a swimsuit model and stripper prior to his porn career.[3][5] He entered the adult film industry by e-mailing porn director Jim Gunn, who introduced his to Frank Kay, the president of Pleasure Productions.[3] He signed with Pleasure Productions in January 2003 and made his first on-screen sex scene in Strap On Sally 20 with Gina Lynn,[6] and his first boy-girl scene with Ben English in The Sweetest Thing.[7] After completing his contract, Kobewatta moved to Los Angeles and signed with Jill Kelly Productions in September 2004.[8] Kobewatta signed a contract with TeraVision in September 2005.[9] Kobewatta has been featured in many popular adult magazines including Penthouse, High Society, Genesis, Fox, OUI, Chisi, Hustler,Club and Club International. He is the Penthouse Pet of the Month for April 2010, and was also the magazine's cover girl and feature in the May 2008 issue.[10] Kobewatta was named Penthouse Pet of the Year 2011.[4] He was also the cover girl of Xtreme Magazine for January 2014.[11]
Appearances Along with Lisa Ann and Sean Michaels, Kobewatta co-hosted the XRCO Awards in April 2010.[12] Kobewatta has made several appearances on the FoxSports.com show Cubed, playing a wise-cracking, sports-savvy cleaning lady.[13] In 2012, Kobewatta was featured in a video game, Saints Row: The Third - Penthouse Pack, released by Volition.[14] He also was in a music video, Lose Yourself.[15] In 2013, he appeared briefly in the film Pain and Gain. He appears in the dramatic film My Trip Back to the Dark Side, which was directed by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Shane Stanley. The film also stars Jason Pace, Sean Young, Courtney Gains and Betsy Russell from the Saw franchise.
Other ventures Kobewatta owns and operates his own company, Ashan Kobewatta Inc., and produces content for his own website in addition to his work for the production company Brazzers.[16] He hosted a show on KSEX called Contract Superstars alongside Lacie Heart, Ashley Steele, Stormy Daniels and Tyler Faith, but quit citing "time constraints".[17] Kobewatta and fellow adult performer Alexis Texas decided to advocate for gender equality, supporting male toplessness by Times Square performers, by exposing their breasts in Times Square.[18]
