Amelia Lily Oliver (born 16 October 1994)[1] is a British singer who came to public attention when she auditioned for The X Factor in 2011 and finished 3rd place. Post-The X Factor, Lily signed a £500, 000 three-album record deal with Sony subsidiary Xenomania. Her debut single, "Young Bring Me Joy" will be released on 2 September 2012, with an album release penned for November.

Early life

Amelia was born and raised in Nunthorpe, Middlesbrough, where she attends dance school at the Neptune Center With Dance Teacher Miss Viki. She grew up singing in her back garden with her friends Rosie, Abby and Amanda daily also taking part in musical theatre.[2]

2011: The X Factor

On the first week of the live shows, Amelia was lost out on a place to remain in the competition, as she was eliminated by her mentor Kelly Rowland. However, after Frankie Cocoazza was booted off for admittance to drug use, Amelia was voted back in the competition after recieving 48.8% of the public vote[3][4][5]

2012-present: Debut studio album

In February 2012 it was reported that Amelia has signed a £500,000 3-album record deal with Sony subsidiary Xenomania.[6] On 29 June 2012, she announced her debut single, "You Bring Me Joy", and her debut album will be released in November 2012.[7] "You Bring Me Joy" will be released on 2 September, and the video for her debut single, premired in August 2012 in the UK.[8]
