Critical Evaluation

[edit]

This article is well written with good introductory lines explaining the topic. It has obeyed the Wikipedia style and formatting guidelines in respect to bold title headings, linking technical terms to Wikipedia articles. Information in this article is accurate however not concise. The article also has several important external links named as Introduction to HL7, Open Source Arden Syntax compiler implementation with an Arden Syntax Example. However the structure of the article is not clear to the readers as it is lacking several headings, subheadings and Table of contents. Also various aspects of the topic are not covered.

Following are some of the suggestions that might be helpful in improving this article:

• I would recommend the last paragraph of the article relating to how Aden syntax got its name might have incorporated in to the introduction of the topic, so that its much clear to the readers.

• I would recommend adding more content to this article by saying advantages and limitations of Arden syntax in two separate headings.

• I would recommend a see also section, references and a further reading sections to this article.

• I would also recommend adding more information to the introduction of the topic as it is not clear to the readers.

I am a Health Informatics student at an Australian university in Melbourne currently working on Electronic Health Record project as part of my course work. I am interested in this article and I am willing to contribute to it over the next couple of months as a wiki editor.

Evaluation

[edit]

This is a very well written article with good depth of information. The author is very knowledgeable in the field of Arden Syntax and has referenced information frequently and in the correct manner. I really like the way you have split up the article into sections- it makes it easier to read, I can find what I specifically need quickly and it makes the article look a bit more interesting to the eye. The introduction to Arden Syntax has been worded clearly which makes the topic easier to understand. The 'Contents' box was a great addition as it showed the structure of the article and introduces us to the different sections. The 'Structure of Arden Syntax' section is very good, I like the way that the 3 categories have been sectioned and headed in bold- it makes them easier to read. If this section was not split up and did not have separate headings, it would be a heavy paragraph which would most likely get ignored by the reader. The way that the advantages and limitations have been split up are great, especially with the use of the bold dot points. This author has made an excellent effort and has delivered a professional and informative Wikipedia article. There are no further recommendations to be made Leah L Marino (talk) 11:23, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks + Questions

[edit]

I want to thank the author for this well written introduction. It is a compact an detailed overwiew of the topic and gave me some new impulses. I would like to add some references to technical aspects (i have to search my literature list first). One detail remains unclear to me (limitations): "...it allows usage of various operators and statements at the same time, leading to inconsistencies.". What does that mean, "at the same time"? What kind of inconsistencies could result? Another Question: I have seen that you study in Australia. Do you know about australian institutions that use Arden syntax? I am interested in experiences with routine use of Arden. Greetings, Iustus --IustusPeccator (talk) 09:45, 17 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
