Kirk Hallam Community Academy is an academy school in Derbyshire, UK.

Kirk Hallam Community Academy is a medium-sized 11–18 academy, situated in the Erewash area of Derbyshire. Its students are drawn from both rural and urban areas. The academy admits students into Year 7 from 15 local primary schools. Kirk Hallam has a long and proud tradition as an important part of its community.

At Kirk Hallam, staff have high expectations of all students and are a truly ambitious learning community. The ‘Culture Code’ initiative brings together our whole school vision, our common mission, the development of character, and provides absolute clarity of expectations. Students are reward for respect, communication, kindness, tenacity and taking responsibility.

The Headteacher is Mr Chris Turner.

Previous Headteachers have been Mrs Chambers & Mrs Paley (2021-22), Mr Belshaw (2020-2021) Mr Watts (2018-2020) Mr Ebbage (2014-2018) Mr Hamer (2005-2014) Mr Shaw (1984-2005) Mr Sherratt (1979 - 1984) and Mr Worrall (1973-1979).

The school was opened in the summer of 1973. Since then the school has grown in size due to the construction of additional buildings such as the Atrium - which was opened in 2001 and now hosts the school's English department. In late 2009, it gained the status of a specialist Sports College in addition to its Technology College status, and a new Sports Hall was built. The Sports Hall is used for student lessons as well as a thriving community hub with grassroots football, sports clubs and gym facilities.

Kirk Hallam Community Academy has a dedicated sixth form building 'Lakeside' - the only sixth form in the Ilkeston area.

In September 2018 the school academised and joined Nova Education Trust to become Kirk Hallam Community Academy.

The school is unique in that it offers qualifications at Levels 2 and 3 (BTEC) in Animal Care, and keeps its own livestock and small animals on-site, including alpacas, goats, pigs and chickens.
