Bibliography
[edit]Soufiane El Khalidy has authored one book: Les Riffs d'un Moroccan Rebel[49][50]
Les Riffs d'un Moroccan Rebel: Through very "punk" and "rock'n'roll" poems, Soufiane El Khalidy invites us to discover his personal journey and denounces also the failings of society. His writing reveals a multiple and shifting identity. His poetry, very free and modern, depicts his childhood in Agadir, his life as a student in Al Akhawayn, in the United States, France and Spain, filming in Hollywood as an actor, racism in the film industry, his view of Moroccan and American societies as well as the rest of the world, the women in his life, his moments of joy, his moments of doubt...
By choosing cinema, Soufiane wanted to show another Morocco to the rest of the world, far from the usual clichés, misery, desert landscapes and colors that we usually see on our screens. He wrote these poems during his travels and studies, and on film sets in Hollywood.[51][1][52]
