Alaska Ballot Measure 2 will be a ballot initiative that will appear on the ballot on November 5, 2024. If enacted, it will repeal Alaska Measure 2 from 2020, a measure that established ranked-choice voting and open primaries for all general elections held in Alaska.[1]
Background
[edit]The 2020 measure established ranked-choice voting and open primaries for all Alaskan state and federal elections. In the 2022 United States House of Representatives election in Alaska, Sarah Palin attempted to convince Nick Begich III to drop out of the race due to more of his supporters ranking the Democrat, Mary Peltola, second, ahead of Palin.[2]
