The Happy Working Animals are minor characters featured in the 2007 Disney film Enchanted and its 2022 sequel Disenchanted. They are a group of animals paralleling the animals seen in the kingdom of Andalasia seen during the "Happy Working Song" musical number where they show support to Giselle.
Background[]
These animals are a group of live-action animals mostly consisting of animals treated as pests in New York where the live-action sequences take place paralleling the animated animals from Andalasia. They consist of mice, rats, pigeons, flies, and cockroaches showing a curious personality towards Giselle in helping tidy Robert Philip's apartment. Whenever Giselle vocalizes, they approach her showing that they are very supportive of her; however, they do not have any dialogues unlike the animals supporting Giselle in Andalasia.

When Giselle adapts her life in the real world in an apartment at Robert Philip's apartment, she does the same call like she did at Andalasia, albeit with mice, rats, pigeons, flies, and cockroaches. When they approach Giselle, she tells the animals to tidy up the apartment while Giselle sings the musical number "Happy Working Song" where the animals she called serve as parallel animals to the animals in Andalasia while Giselle hopes for Prince Edward to fall in love with her. The animals that Giselle called were able to tidy up the apartment. Morgan Philip, daughter of Robert, notices Giselle aided by various animals to tidy up the apartment and as she wakes up her father, only for him to send the animals out of their house, which he mistakes them for pests while on his way to see Giselle in his apartment, followed by two pigeons wrapping a towel around Giselle who is cleaning herself. As she was about to sing to them to clean up again, one of the pigeons accidentally bumped into Robert, knocking him and Giselle out of the bathroom in front of Robert's girlfriend Nancy Tremaine, leading to a misunderstanding that resulted in Nancy leaving Robert.
Later during the "That's How You Know" sequence, Giselle tells two doves to take the flowers to Nancy to show her the flowers to which the doves follow Giselle's singing and arrive at the spot where Nancy is at so that she can help Nancy reconcile with Robert.
Later during the end of the film, mice, rats, and pigeons help decorate dresses inside the Andalasia-themed store.
Disenchanted[]
The pigeons, rats, and cockroaches are only seen at the beginning of the film, when Giselle is saying goodbye to them just before she leaves for Monroeville.
Trivia[]
- The part where the mice, rats, pigeons, flies, and cockroaches help tidy up the apartment is an homage to the "Whistle While You Work" sequence from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
- The pigeons and rats filmed during the "Happy Working Song" musical sequence were real pigeons and rats that rehearsed for the musical sequence in the first film. The flies and cockroaches were created through CGI technology - albeit some CGI pigeons and rats were used in certain scenes.
