Jimmy Boyd

Jimmy Boyd (January 9, 1939 – March 7, 2009) was an American musician and actor. He became known for his performance and recording of "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus".

He was born James Boyd in McComb, Mississippi. He died from cancer, age seventy, in Santa Monica, California.

Early Life and Career

Jimmy Boyd was born on January 9, 1939, in McComb, Mississippi, to a musical family. He gained national attention at the age of 13 when he recorded “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus”, which became an instant hit. The song topped the charts in 1952 and sold millions of copies. Boyd’s success with this recording launched his career as both a musician and actor  .[1]
