- No freedom of panorama in the Philippines, although I do weakly suggest contacting the uploader to confirm the location of the tablets (probably the Philippines, considering the language photographed, the language he speaks, and the personal information on his user page). - File:Axel Bakunts.jpg (delete | talk | history | logs).
- There are two troublesome things about this file. One, the file description says that it is in the public domain but does not list the source of the image, which makes it hard or impossible to confirm its copyright status. It also says that it is in the public domain because the author died more than 100 years ago, but that is impossible: it is a portrait of a young man who was born in 1899. The image itself could not possibly be more than 90 years old. The justification for deeming this image to be in the public domain needs to be clarified. - Map scanned from modern copyrighted book, but simultaneously claimed to be PD-old. Seems to be modern, computer-age graphics, therefore very unlikely to be old enough for PD. Fut.Perf. ☼ 10:33, 8 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

- No evidence of permission given for use of this image. This is an artwork of which a photo has been taken and numbers added. The permission stated is that of the photographer of the artwork and not the actual artist Mattinbgn\talk 20:27, 8 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I am the originator in the UK of this memorial to 15 murdered young people. I have gone on to the web site of the artist and sent a polite email asking about these concerns but have no reply. The photographer (the mother Mary Lewis of the murdered Michael Lewis) was given specific permission by the artist at the memorial event to photograph the picture and use as she thought fit (she and her family travelled from the UK to Australia at their own expense for this). The picture was commissioned by the Australian authorities for its people. The same picture is illustrated in "The Palace -- the story" by Wayne Heidrich ISBN 0-646-42516-1.
I W. Duncan Ogilvie have today 13 March 2010 received the following email from the artist authorising Wikipedia to publish a photo of her painting: ...........................
Dear Duncan,
Thanks for your contact. Your entry is a very respectful way to give continued support to those who lost loved ones.
As the copyright holder of the 2002 Childers Memorial Portrait entitled 'Taking a Break in the Field' I am happy to authorize the use of an image of this painting in conjunction with your Wikipedia text entry.
Please pass on my kind regards to Mary Lewis whom I remember clearly from the unveiling gathering in Childers.
Sincerely,
Josonia Palaitis
