‘Superbad’
Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg met at bar mitzvah class and have now written eight films together. The very first was Superbad, a snort-laugh-inducing autobiographical script they began as 13-year-olds. On one of their last nights of high school, Seth (Jonah Hill) and Evan (Michael Cera) get a surprise party invite from Jules (Emma Stone). But their plan to court their crushes is delayed when they witness a liquor store robbery with their friend Sam/”McLovin” (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), evade arrested by two madcap cops (Rogen and Bill Hader), rankle a bus driver, and squabble enough to jeopardize their friendship. A testament to adolescent awkwardness that manages to stay smart even in its raunchiest moments, from Undeclared veterans Greg Mottola (director) and Judd Apatow (producer).
