‘Marvel’s Daredevil’
Before or after you check out the brand-new Marvel Spotlight series Echo, go back to where it all began for Kingpin and The Man Without Fear himself, Daredevil. Daredevil, which originally aired on Netflix, is now streaming on Disney+ alongside the rest of the MCU. Charlie Cox starred (and still does) as Matt Murdock, a lawyer-by-day who uses heightened senses from an accident that left him blind to fight crime on the streets of Hell’s Kitchen at night. Throughout the series, he crosses paths with a deadlier vigilante than himself, a dangerous ex-girlfriend, and a few other Marvel heroes, but no adversary was more prominent than Wilson Fisk a.k.a. Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio). It’s a delight to have D’Onofrio and Cox back in these roles in Echo and beyond after three great seasons of TV full of iconic fight choreography and a darker tone than we’re used to Marvel projects taking, which is why I find myself revisiting Daredevil so often.
