‘Late Night’
Emma Thompson and Mindy Kaling? A movie about late-night television? Late Night may sound too good to be true, but trust me, it lives up to the high expectations. Writer/actress extraordinaire Kaling wrote Late Night based on her own experiences writing for The Office, where she was both the only woman and the only person of color in the room. Late Night follows a similar story: Molly (Kaling) is hired to write for Katherine Newbury (Thompson), an aging talk show host. When Katherine fears she’ll lose her show, Molly becomes an unexpected beam of light in the writers’ room.
