‘Kevin Can F**k Himself’ Season 2
Season 2 of Kevin Can F**k Himself is a reminder that the genre-bending series, created by Valerie Armstrong, is one of television’s most underrated triumphs. In its final season, the AMC show follows fed-up sitcom wife Allison McRoberts (Annie Murphy) on her quest to escape her lazy, emotionally abusive, immature husband Kevin (Eric Petersen) once and for all. With new schemes, powerful performances from the cast (including Mary Hollis Inboden and Alex Bonifer), glorious guest stars like Rachel Dratch and Erinn Hayes, and increasingly ambitious swaps from multi-camera sitcom to single-camera drama, the show is at the top of its game. With fleshed out characters; jarring lighting transitions; unconventional cinematography; extraordinary set design; and sharp, concise writing, the sophomore season is so compelling you’ll wish more episodes were on the horizon. It’s hard to say goodbye to this unique world Armstrong brought to life, but Kevin Can F**k Himself culminates in a bold, fitting, incredibly satisfying finale.
