‘Gold Zone’
Are you, like me, trying to watch as much Olympics as you possibly can over the next week and a half? If you haven’t already tuned into Gold Zone on Peacock, it’s a total game changer. You’ll watch more sports than you thought, and you might just find your new favorite that way. Structured similarly to NFL RedZone, Gold Zone is live from 7 a.m. ET to 5 p.m. ET every day of the Olympics to whip around and show as many live events as they can. There’s the quad screen, which shows four events at once, and sometimes they even break out the octobox, which is eight live events on one screen. You’ll see all of the biggest moments, but Gold Zone also has a specific focus on showing the conclusion of medal events even if Team USA isn’t in contention the same way RedZone will always shift to one game when a team is in scoring position. There have only been four days of Gold Zone so far but it’s completely changed the Olympics viewing experience. For the next week and a half, you’ll find me locked in to Gold Zone.
