‘Freaky Friday’
It’s been 20 years (minus a day) since Anna (Lindsay Lohan) and her mother Tess (Jamie Lee Curtis) switched bodies at a Chinese restaurant via a fortune cookie in the 2003 remake of Freaky Friday. The third adaptation of Mary Rodgers’s novel Freaky Friday has remained a preferred iteration, if not the only iteration, that this generation remembers and loves. Plus, Curtis confirmed that her and Lohan will be starring in a sequel (but more details are TBD due to the ongoing strike). The film features certified bops from the fictional but fierce rock band Pink Slip (“Ultimate,” specifically), and of course, we can’t forget about 2000s heartthrob Chad Michael Murray’s role as Jake, Anna’s crush, who ends up falling for her while she’s in her mom’s body…?
