‘Doctor Who’ “The Star Beast”
Doctor Who‘s new era on Disney+ kicks off with the nostalgic reunion hardcore fans have been waiting for. Doctor Who “The Star Beast” opens with the Doctor (David Tennant) newly regenerated, but with an old face. When the TARDIS lands him right in the path of Donna Noble (Catherine Tate), her daughter Rose (Yasmin Finney), and an adorable shipwrecked alien called the Meep (Miriam Margoyles), the Time Lord pieces together that he’s been brought to this point for a reason. In addition to marking “New” Who‘s original showrunner Russell T. Davies’s return to the sci-fi series, it’s also a special dripping with nostalgia for fans. We get the Doctor, Donna, UNIT, and so much more. However, it’s Davies’s renewed mission to use the landmark British series as a safe, inclusive place that might be the most touching aspect of “The Star Beast.” Doctor Who is back, baby! And it’s as sweet, scary, and loving as always.
