‘Caddyshack’
Caddyshack is as much a comedy classic as it is a time capsule of an era caked in cocaine. The raucous, naughty, and devilishly politically incorrect film is a hedonistic riff on the “Upstairs/Downstairs” trope. A group of bored, struggling caddies must juggle romance with responsibilities just as the wealthy eccentrics they work for get into all sorts of mischief. The film’s comedy is dirty and absurd, and it helped put Harold Ramis and Rodney Dangerfield on the map. Of course, the film is maybe best known for a bizarre running gag between Bill Murray’s deranged groundskeeper and an animatronic gopher causing mayhem on the golf course.
