UPDATED:

Hurricane Francine came ashore Wednesday evening in south Louisiana as a Category 2 storm with 100 mph winds, according to the latest forecast from the National Hurricane Center.

Hurricane warnings are posted along most of the Louisiana coast. Storm surge warnings are in effect for much of Louisiana, including New Orleans.
