Cyril Robinson is an émigré to the U.K from British Guiana and has since become a valued member of the community. He had a long courtship with Nonnatus midwife, Lucille Anderson, who hails from Jamaica. After a romantic proposal, the two married on Boxing Day in Season 11.
Cyril is driven and has a strong work ethic. He works long hours as a mechanic at the local garage whilst also studying engineering at night school. This dedication pays off when Cyril is offered a stable job in the council. Alongside this, Cyril plays an integral role in his local church where he is Pastor. The church is in a flat above Buckle’s paper shop which also accommodates Cyril and Lucille. Cyril puts others first and is always looking to give back to the community.
In Season 11 Cyril and Lucille endure a heartbreaking miscarriage. The couple work through the difficult time together, however, in Season 12, Lucille makes the decision to return to Jamaica following the increasing anguish she feels in Poplar. Following Lucille’s departure, Cyril seeks out a new employment opportunity in Season 13 as a social service worker, helping different families in Poplar who need assistance.
