Storyteller from developer Daniel Benmergui is yet another feather in the cap of Annapurna Interactive. It’s a cleverly designed puzzle game that does a superb job of pushing the importance of visual storytelling as it relates to a narrative. While its longevity might be in question, the journey through the game is good enough to forgive that is even an issue.
It's almost more interesting to play the game wrong. To see what bizarre outcomes emerge when you combine characters and situations together with wild abandon. But at the end of a stressful day, I enjoyed what Storyteller had to give: something clever and surprisingly soothing, despite all the murder.

Storyteller is a solid and enjoyable puzzle game that takes an interesting core mechanic and runs with it. Its brief runtime, ease and lack of obvious replayability might give some players food for thought, but those who want a fun and relaxing puzzler will enjoy their time with the game.
¿Por qué la gente critica este videojuego? No puedo entenderlo. No está cerca de ser una obra maestra, pero el tiempo de desarrollo se hace visible, el cariño que hay detrás también. Tiene un concepto original que se adapta a pocos paladares. Es cierto que su duración es bastante corta, pero eso no lo hace un mal videojuego, de hecho, siento que en un futuro cercano va a lograr un mejor recibimiento.
Por mi parte puedo decir que valió la pena esperar tanto tiempo para poder jugarlo.

Why do people hate this video game? I can't understand it. I can say this is not close to being a masterpiece, but the development time is visible, as well the love behind it.
It has an original concept that adapts to few palates. It is true that its duration is quite short, but that does not make it a bad video game, in fact, I feel that in the near future it will achieve a better reception.
For my part I can say that it was worth waiting so long to be able to play it.
Storyteller is a creative logic puzzle game, with unique humour and mindful twists. The game requires players to arrange characters and scenarios to fit into a certain narrative. There are 60 normal stages and 10 twists at the end of the game, which can be finished within 2 hours. Many of those stages can be solved in several different ways allowing some degree of player self-expression. Quite a lot of stages also have references in classic literature, discovering them during the play through creates particular memorable experience. However, the game is too simple and too short. It has many good elements and ideas for creating complexity in narratives but ultimately failed in doing so. It throws out many good ideas without further explorations. Overall, I think it is a good game with some minor flaws, which is 7/10 by my standard.
I love my puzzle games. and "Storyteller" is a great game to stimulate your mind. "Storyteller" is a rather simple game, however, it still manages to challenge your brain. This game is a great game for people looking for a light challenge.
Bad score mostly because of cost.
I did not feel like I got a good value for my money.
It can be finished in maybe 1-2 hours. And even then some of the puzzles started feeling lazier toward the end. It felt like the developers had a really novel idea and fun gimmick but were already running out of ideas on how to use it which felt really disrespectful of my time and money spent.
This could have easily been massively expanded into more puzzles. I've bought indie games that have both lasted way longer and felt like had more of an effort then this game gave. I just feel ripped off and want my money back. There just feels like there is no excuse to end the game where it did, it made no sense and never even felt like it gave me a chance.
The gimmick is fun and like an hour into it I really felt like 'ok cool, I think i got the hang of this, it's getting kinda fun now' and then the game ends..... Like, right when some repetition starts happening that makes puzzle pieces click together on how to use what you learned and then the game ends... It felt like a tutorial to learn the game mechanic but instead I paid money for this before I felt like I even had the chance to use what I learned to play the game and it suddenly ends.
I'm like so embarrassed I didn't check more for reviews on this. I just never encountered this before and it was a hard lesson learned that there are 1 hour puzzle games out there that end at the tutorial.
I dont mind short games, I've played plenty if this had been maybe 5-8 hours long I would have felt like I got my moneys worth for sure. For what I got I feel like it's easily a $2 game and even at $2 I may have felt a little on edge because it's such a tease on what could have been and even at a low price like $2 ita really not about the money but about me taking my time to learn a game mechanic that is novel and unique and then suddenly not have a game to apply it to when I just got a taste of enjoying the feeling of getting the hang of it, which felt really empty in the end and disappointing.
I dont even thing I would have played this if it was free =(
Interesting concept, but you won't get more than an hour of entertainment out of it. Completely void of content or replay value. It is not worth the price.
