Celebrating our students' milestones is our favorite thing! 🎉 Meet our graduate student Warren Kankwe - she just kicked off her MS in Cybersecurity at the Ritchie School of Engineering and Computer Science this week! As a kid, she was always curious, and that curiosity and passion has only grown. From being a self-taught tech enthusiast to now pursuing her degree in cybersecurity, she's taking her love for technology to the next level! We’re so proud to have amazing students like Warren at Ritchie School! Help us give her a warm welcome and cheer her on! #Cybersecurity #UniversityofDenver #RitchieSchool #STEM
🚀 First week as a grad student – and what a journey it has already been! 🚀 I’m excited to share that I’ve officially started my master’s degree in Cybersecurity at the University of Denver, Ritchie School of Engineering and Computer Science. Transitioning from a career in Digital Marketing to the dynamic world of cybersecurity has been an exhilarating challenge, but one that feels like the natural next step in my journey. In many ways, my digital marketing background prepared me for this pivot. Both fields require an understanding of digital landscapes, problem-solving, and creative thinking. Marketing taught me how to analyze and protect brand integrity online, and now, I’m diving deeper into protecting the systems behind the scenes. As a kid, I was always the one taking things apart to see how they worked—computers, gadgets, you name it. That curiosity has never left me. I’ve always been a self-taught tech lover, and now I’m taking it a step further by pursuing this formal education. The possibilities in the field of cybersecurity are endless, and I’m so excited for the new chapters and opportunities this path will open for the future. Here’s to embracing new challenges and building a safer digital world! 🔐💻 #Cybersecurity #GradStudent #TechJourney #LifelongLearner #ExcitedForTheFuture #UniversityOfDenver

I’m honored to share that I’ve been nominated by my amazing students as a Faculty Career Champion! 🎉 Being recognized for making a meaningful contribution to their career and professional development is one of the greatest rewards in my role as an educator. A big part of my mission is helping students find and thrive on their career paths, and this nomination shows me that they appreciate the guidance and support I provide. It’s incredibly motivating to know that I’ve made a difference, and their passion for creating a better future through interfaces and robotics technology inspires me every day. One student shared: "Dr. Haring is one of those individuals who truly cares about her students and goes out of her way to guide them. She knows how the industry works and gives tips on how to look for jobs and/or work toward academic goals. She advises me about different academic conferences and made sure I was a published author before I graduate. After that, she worked with me to set up my LinkedIn profile and how to look for jobs." To the students who inspire me daily: thank you! Your growth and success fuel my drive to continue creating innovative and impactful learning experiences. Together, we are shaping a future where technology can improve lives in meaningful ways. 💡 #FacultyCareerChampion #CareerDevelopment #StudentSuccess #Mentorship #Robotics #Education #UniversityofDenver #RSECS #RitchieSchoolofEngineeringandComputerScience
