Today, we announced our latest collaboration with Google and Omaha Public Power District – NextEra Energy Resources' Pierce County Energy Center. This center will be a 420-MW solar project and 170-MW/4-hour-duration battery storage energy system that will support Google’s carbon-free energy goals and provide Nebraskans with access to clean, reliable and low-cost energy. NextEra Energy Resources has invested more than $820 million in Nebraska since 2013. And more than that, University of Nebraska-Lincoln estimates the project will also create more than 540 jobs during construction and $5.7 million in annual economic activity during the project’s lifespan. Collaborations like this, which bring together the developer, the utility and the end user, are key to addressing grid reliability and capacity challenges as well as economic investment in communities across the United States. #Solarenergy #batterystorage #collaboration

We are truly pleased to be working with AdventHealth to deliver on one of the largest renewable energy commitments ever made in the healthcare industry. The Stafford Solar project, currently being constructed in Texas, will supply AdventHealth with the equivalent of approximately 60-70% of its total electricity needs across its system. This collaboration represents a significant step forward in the healthcare sector’s energy transition and showcases our united dedication to fostering a cleaner and healthier future. Twenty years ago, NextEra Energy Resources set out with a bold vision in North Dakota—build the state’s first wind farm. Fast forward to today and we now operate 16 wind farms and have invested $3.8 billion into this incredible community! Within the last 20 years, our collaboration with the state has resulted in an annual payroll of $24 million, fueling local economies, supporting education, building infrastructure and creating jobs that allow people to thrive in their home state. This legacy wouldn’t have been possible without the dedicated group of community leaders who believed in the transformative power of wind energy. Their curiosity, determination and warm welcome paved the way for amazing growth for renewable energy in North Dakota. The story of North Dakota’s renewable energy footprint is one of collaboration, innovation, community and shared vision. Over the past several weeks I’ve had the opportunity to meet with our ~200 talented summer interns embedded within our business units across the company. Our 2024 intern class is an impressive group, featuring highly engaged undergraduate students, seasoned MBAs from top business schools, and technical students stationed at our wind and solar sites. Conversations have been far-ranging, covering our company’s strategy, career advice, and details about my own career path. I’ve been truly inspired by the curiosity and fresh perspectives they bring to our team. Reflecting on my own journey, a couple of pieces of advice I shared: ✋ raise your hand for the tough assignments ❓ ask a lot of questions 🤝 invest time in building relationships, and 🙌 have fun! Community engagement is essential. Recently, team members from NextEra Energy Resources toured the Shadden Marsh with Ducks Unlimited and learned about conservation efforts in the Clinton Wildlife Area and throughout Kansas. The tour, which was hosted by Ducks Unlimited, also featured informative presentations by the Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks. I’m proud to announce that NextEra Energy Resources and INEOS Olefins & Polymers USA, LLC are working together to build a solar energy center in Texas. This joint project will help reduce their carbon footprint, marking a significant milestone for the sector. Last month was an exciting month for NextEra Energy Resources and Northern California! Two new renewable energy projects in Stanislaus County are now delivering clean energy to Sonoma Clean Power and San Francisco Public Utilities Commission customers. For more than 30 years, NextEra Energy Resources has been investing in California’s economy and building strong relationships across the state. And these projects highlight our continued investment in delivering clean, reliable and affordable energy for California customers. In addition to increasing access to clean energy, the Paulsell Energy Center has committed nearly $100,000 to nonprofit organizations, and the Proxima Energy Center is expected to generate millions in additional tax revenue for the community over the next 20 years.
