Inspiring & Changing Lives Through Musical Excellence
About us
The Dallas Symphony's mission statement is to inspire and change lives through musical excellence. Since 1900, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra has grown from a 40-person ensemble to a world-class orchestra performing in one of the world's finest concert halls. The home of the DSO, the Meyerson Symphony Center is just as integral to the sound of the music as the musicians themselves. The members of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra's musical community build upon a rich 111-year tradition of artistic excellence and masterful musicianship. The DSO is committed to inspiring the broadest possible audience with distinctive classical programs, inventive pops concerts and innovative multi-media presentations. The DSO is proud to celebrate Hispanic Heritage month and pay homage to the invaluable contributions of Hispanic and Latin individuals both past and present. The 2024 Hispanic Heritage Month national theme, “Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together,” perfectly encapsulates the spirit of innovation, resilience, and unity that defines the Hispanic and Latin American experience. This month, the DSO is excited to announce the launch of our new initiative, the DSO Mosaic Performance Series on Tuesday, September 24 from 12:30-1:30pm. This series celebrates equity, diversity, and inclusion in the arts through live performances by artists who share their talents and experiences to entertain, educate and empower. This month's special guest includes musical collective El Chanclazo, featuring one of DSO's very own beloved musicians Elmer Churampi! We will also highlight the impactful work of DSO partner organization, the Greater North Texas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Bring your lunch and enjoy some great music, camaraderie and complimentary Spanish-themed desserts by our own Chef Moises Martinez. This event is free, but attendees must RSVP at https://bit.ly/4d9M0fB. Please join us in giving a big shoutout to our DSO Community Leadership Team, Carl Baines, Vannesa Nates Natalie Kreidler and Jadzia James, MS.

Volunteerism is vital to the DSO's commitment to EDI & Social Impact. Yesterday, we joined 9/11 Day alongside hundreds of other organizations across the country to pack meals for those facing hunger in observance of the September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance. Team DSO included members from our staff, chorus, DSO Young Professionals, and musicians from our DSO Young Strings program who performed "America the Beautiful" as a moment of reflection and remembrance. What an honor to come together and give back to the community in a tangible way.
