Gaten Matarazzo Shares How Star Wars Became His First Obsession
Anybody can be a fan of something, but to Broadway Musical and Honor Society star Gaten Matarazzo, Star Wars goes beyond merch-collecting. If anything, it's the foundation of what brought him to the screens.
"[Star Wars] is the reason that I developed a love for cinema as a whole," the star explained, "It was my first actual obsession in life."
Matarazzo added how the franchise is the first thing he "sunk his teeth into" that really "started to become a whole personality.

George Lucas’ Star Wars franchise stands as a cornerstone of modern science fiction. What began as an ambitious space opera has evolved into one of the most successful and beloved franchises in history. Over several decades, Star Wars has captivated multiple generations and remains one of the most well-crafted fictional universes ever created.
While the films are largely adored by fans, even the original trilogy faced criticism and issues. Although The Empire Strikes Back is often hailed as the franchise’s flawless installment, Lucas’s other films received their share of criticism from fans and commentators.
This report will focus on Return of the Jedi, particularly its most controversial element: the Ewoks. The new animated series Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy revisits the pivotal battle from Episode VI and reminds us that Lucas’ original plans were quite different.

George Lucas’ Star Wars franchise is a pillar of modern science fiction. What started out as a relatively ambitious space opera project became one of the most lucrative and popular franchises in history. Being present for several decades now, Star Wars has raised multiple generations of fans and it still remains one of the best fictional universes ever created.

Next year, heaven willing, we will watching the fifth and final season of Stranger Things, three years after season 4 dropped in 2022. Expectations are high after so long a wait, but I'm sure creators Matt and Ross Duffer want to end their sci-fi coming-of-age story on a high note.
We're starting to get teases from the cast, including Gaten Matarazzo, who has played fan favorite Dustin Henderson from the beginning. Speaking to RadioTimes, he promises a satisfying ending for Dustin: "It definitely will be a bookend. I think it will wrap up really nicely."
Matarazzo also speculated on what might lie in the future for Dustin beyond this ending, which if nothing else implies that Dustin will survive whatever's coming. When he and his friends are facing down a deadly interdimensional menace like Vecna, you can't be sure of anything. "I don't think Matt or Ross will want to approach anything...

New calendar month, new offerings from Disney+! The streamer’s light summer continues, but one of the year’s biggest and most anticipated series will have its debut this month: the Marvel Studios/Marvel Television spinoff series “Agatha All Along.” Kathryn Hahn reprises her Emmy-nominated “WandaVision” role as the infamous witch Agatha Hackness as she works with some unlikely allies on her quest to regain her former powers. “Heartstopper” star Joe Locke co-stars in the new MCU addition, which will premiere on Wednesday, Sept. 18 with new episodes continuing to debut throughout September and October.
Also in September, ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” will premiere its 33rd season, and Disney+ subscribers will be able to watch the new season live right along those with cable. So far, Olympic Bronze medalist and pommel horse specialist Stephen Nedoroscik is the only confirmed cast member, but the full roster will be announced during...

September is the time for the broadcast shows to bring back their top shows. That doesn’t mean there’s nothing on streaming to watch, though. In fact, Disney+ has some excellent offerings throughout September 2024.
No, there isn’t as much on Disney+ as there is on Netflix. It’s about quality, though, right? We want good TV shows, and that’s what we’re getting on Disney+ this month. There’s something for the entire family.
This list is in release date order. How can we compare a Marvel series up against something made for preschoolers? Most Disney+ shows will release weekly, unless otherwise stated.

We start off with something for the younger members of the family out there. Look, let’s be honest; we’ll watch it with our kids! Lego Pixar: BrickToons is a mash-up between Pixar and Lego.

After a quiet few weeks, September is shaping up to be quite an exciting month for Disney+ subscribers – especially if you happen to be a Marvel fan!
This September, Marvel’s latest original series, Agatha All Along, finally arrives on Disney+ beginning with a two-part season premiere event on Sept. 18. The spinoff picks up sometime after the events of WandaVision, reuniting us with one of our favorite witches: Agatha Harkness!
Left powerless after her battle with the Scarlet Witch and still trapped in the spell placed upon her in the finale of WandaVision, Agatha’s journey is turned around when a goth Teen arrives to break her free from the spell. After agreeing to accompany him to the Witches’ Road, a magical gauntlet of trails that, if survived, rewards the conquering witches with what they need, Agatha and our unnamed Teen assemble a coven to begin their journey down the road.

It’s been an eventful summer for Disney, and not under ideal circumstances. After his wife’s death because of food allergies at a Disney park, a man struggled to pursue legal action against the company due to his Disney+ subscription. Then, “X-Men: 97” showrunner Beau DeMayo shared a series of posts elaborating on his termination, and his attorneys told IndieWire that he’s preparing to sue.

Fulfilling a decades-old prophecy — and by prophecy, I mean a throwaway joke that was clearly never meant to be taken seriously — Mel Brooks’ Spaceballs is finally getting a sequel. Whether or not it’s actually going to be called Spaceballs II: The Search for More Money remains to be seen.
Last week, Josh Gad posted images of a heavily-redacted screenplay on Instagram, indicating that he was working on a mystery movie that would be “Based on Characters Created by Mel” somebody, and opens with the scene heading “Ext. Star Field.” Fans quickly deduced that Gad’s script was for a sequel to Spaceballs. It was either that or a Passion of the Christ spin-off set in the distant future.
It’s now been officially confirmed that a Spaceballs follow-up is in development at Amazon MGM. The belated continuation of the 1987 Star Wars spoof will star Gad, who also co-wrote the script.

For a while, Jar Jar Binks seemed to be the most hated character in cinema. The backlash against him was something to behold following the release of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace 25 years ago, but attitudes towards the Gungan have softened somewhat as a new generation has embraced the character. While speaking with Inverse, Best revealed that Star Wars creator George Lucas gave him a valuable piece of advice at the height of the Jar Jar backlash.
“I think it’s wonderful the younger generations are embracing not only the prequels, but Jar Jar specifically,” Best said. “This is something that George kind of predicted when all the backlash happened. He was like, ‘Thirty years from now, nobody’s going to be talking about this.’ And it was tough to realize that in the moment, but now here we are, 25 years later, and he was right.“

Lucasfilm unveiled the teaser trailer for its “four-piece” animated special, “Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy” (streaming September 13 on Disney+), where the entire galaxy gets completely mixed up, reversing good and evil.
From showrunners and executive producers Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit, “Rebuild the Galaxy” concerns nerf-herder Sig Greebling (Gaten Matarazzo), who unearths a powerful artifact called The Cornerstone from a hidden Jedi temple, forcing him to rebuild the twisted galaxy.
The Lucasfilm mashup of Lego sets includes Ewok bounty hunters, Geonosian Jedi, and even Darth Jar Jar. They also snap together Imperial X-fighters, Rebel Tie-wings, and the Dark Falcon.
“Rebuild the Galaxy” marks the 25th year in the ongoing collaboration between Lucasfilm and the Lego Group. A teaser poster has also been released, featuring the “Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy” logo, a starfield comprised of Lego studs, and the Cornerstone.
