The creator of Gintama, Hideaki Sorachi is not a typical mangaka. He stands out as one of the most unorthodox creators in the manga industry. This hint of madness in his personality is witnessed in his work like Gintama, which is famous for its chaotic blend of humor, action, and deep emotional moments. Moreover, what often gets overlooked is the fact that Sorachi’s real-life motivation to become a mangaka stems from a deeper, more personal struggle — the feeling of not fitting into society.

Although somewhat bittersweet, it makes perfect sense. Fans of Gintama have probably noticed that this series doesn’t exactly stick to the rules of the Shonen world. Sorachi has turned his own shortcomings into an advantage by creating one of the quirkiest, most beloved manga of all time. Through Gintama, he created a world where misfits reign supreme.

Stan Lee, with the help of collaborators such as Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko, co-created many of Marvel’s most iconic characters, including Spider-Man, the X-Men, the Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, and the Avengers. Many of these characters are now central to the MCU and have achieved cultural icon status.
Given his pivotal role in shaping Marvel’s legacy, Stan Lee’s opinions have always been highly influential. However, even this legendary figure may have been mistaken about one of Marvel’s most popular heroes—Daredevil.
“Daredevil” was one of the early Marvel superheroes to be adapted into a live-action film. Released in 2003, it starred Ben Affleck as the Man Without Fear, with Jennifer Garner as Elektra and Colin Farrell as Bullseye.
Despite generating solid box office revenue, the film was widely regarded as a flop. Many fans were disappointed, with criticism aimed at Ben Affleck’s portrayal of Matt Murdock/Daredevil as underwhelming.

Remember when "The Walking Dead" was the hot new show on cable? In 2010, the zombie apocalypse series debuted with an engrossing and ambitious supersized premiere. With its gritty, small-scale stories from the end of the world, the Frank Darabont-created series took the world by storm, and continued to hold TV fans in its grip for several high-rated seasons to come. Developed from a long-running comic book series by Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore, the show was always destined for big things, but early fans never could've guessed just how big the franchise would ultimately get.
These days, the "Walking Dead" franchise doesn't always pull in headline-grabbing audience numbers, but it does offer a surprising breadth of stories from within the flagship show's universe. With seven shows and counting (not to mention webisodes), the "Walking Dead" property has multiplied itself faster than walkers in a city struck with Wildfire Virus back in the day.

For a long time now, the names of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have receded from the public memory. In the aftermath of the 2022 Depp v Heard defamation trial, the respective parties who had been at war since December 2018 finally subsided into their own corners of the Earth, enjoying a life only luxury can buy.

However, only a couple of years have passed since their Hollywood controversy shook the tinsel town out of its slumber and engaged the entire world in a united mockery of the trial. Although it is hard to imagine the two actors ever being social again, once upon a time, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard met, fell in love, and got married before the ugliness settled into their relationship.

It's no secret that "Deadpool & Wolverine" is filled with some surprising superhero cameos. Honestly, they're more than cameos, as they basically turn into supporting roles, with the likes of Elektra (Jennifer Garner), Blade (Wesley Snipes), Gambit (Channing Tatum), and X-23 (Dafne Keen) teaming up to battle Cassandra Nova in the Void, in an effort to give themselves a chance at a proper ending, even if it means their demise.
Thankfully, by the end of "Deadpool & Wolverine," it seems like the Time Variance Authority may have figured out a way to get all of them back to their proper timelines, since we see X-23 hanging out with Wolverine and Deadpool back at Wade Wilson's apartment with all of his friends. Sadly, other superheroes like Johnny Storm and Daredevil (played by Ben Affleck in a 2003 movie from 20th Century Fox) met their demise in a much less epic fashion, and...

I was thinking about ways to talk about Fear of the End without my heartbreak over saying goodbye to Evil hogging the mic. And strangely enough, how Evil wrapped up its carnival of oddities spanning Hell, Heaven, and Earth is kind of what helped me come to a conclusion. This is as much a celebration as it is an unfair goodbye. Sort of how Sheryl’s funeral went, no? That’s the thing about Evil that speaks to us the most I guess. This stubborn, practically deranged hope in the face of insurmountable trouble. And that’s what Evil leaves our beloved Kristen, Ben, and David with too.

Eiichiro Oda has come a long way since One Piece first began. The series’ journey is one that not many can achieve yet he was able to do it anyway. The manga and anime are both acknowledged to be extremely lengthy. The unusual length is something that has always made it unique.

The manga and anime always stood out due to the increasing number of chapters and episodes. So much so that it is one of the only few mangas to have over a hundred volumes with above a thousand episodes and chapters respectively. The length of the franchise can undoubtedly be intimidating but that hasn’t stopped One Piece’s fanbase from growing exponentially.
Eiichiro Oda Changed His Plans
During an interview with Kohei Horikoshi (via Edomonogatari), Eiichiro Oda admitted that his initial plans for One Piece had been nowhere near what the series ultimately became.

The world of The Walking Dead has grown considerably since the first series. It all started with the spin-off Fear the Walking Dead, and now there are multiple shows that have followed on since the end of the Og show.
For the longest time, only The Walking Dead was on Netflix. As AMC owns the rights to the show, it kept the spin-offs on its own platform. After all, Netflix was focused on creating its own shows, and there were even a few zombie shows in the works.
Now Netflix has changed its plan. The streamer is back to licensing content, and that’s great news for The Walking Dead fans. Two of the spin-offs are now streaming, as of today, Aug. 19. Two more will join soon!

One of the defining features and outstanding revelations that came with the passage of time is that the PS3 and Xbox 360 generation was one of the best in recent years when it comes to video games. This graphical leap not only set trends but also offered some of the most original titles possible. This list of underrated games is clear proof of that.
Titles like F.E.A.R., Vanquish, and Asura’s Wrath all belonged to that generation. Fortunately, the following generation didn’t fall behind and also has several examples of games that were unfairly overlooked, like Mad Max. Evil West was one of the few exceptions to the current generation.

The original version of Daredevil: Born Again is believed to have been completely separate from Netflix's Daredevil. However, following a creative overhaul, the show will feature the return of actors who originally weren't going to be in the Disney+ revival and a story which harkens back to the Man Without Fear's previous adventures.
Entertainment Weekly caught up with Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock/Daredevil), Vincent D'Onofrio (Wilson Fisk/The Kingpin), Jon Bernthal (Frank Castle/The Punisher), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), and Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson) at D23 and unearthed some specifics about how Daredevil: Born Again will tie into its predecessor.

Netflix's Daredevil series wasn't exactly what you'd call a bloodbath, but it was certainly darker and more violent than anything we'd seen in the MCU at that time, featuring some pretty shocking moments over the course of its three seasons.
When it was announced that Marvel Studios planned to bring The Man Without Fear back for Disney+'s Daredevil: Born Again, there was some concern that the "reboot" (though we now know that it's going to be more of a continuation) might lose some of the Netflix show's edge, but one returning cast member believes Born Again will actually take the violence "much further."
"There's one thing in particular, that my character does, that I can't believe made it into the cut," Vincent D'Onofro told Rotten Tomatoes during a video interview.

What’s the Paris Olympics without a stunt performed by one of America’s most enduring celebrities to close the show? Indeed, the Man Without Fear, Tom Cruise, performed an epic stunt where he jumped off the roof of the Stade de France, before jumping onto a motorbike, with the Olympic flag in hand, on his way to deliver the flag to Los Angeles for the 2028 games. The footage then cut to a pre-recorded bit showing a skydiving Cruise delivering the flag to L.A. It was pretty awesome stuff. Due to Olympics rights issues, you can watch it Here in the United States, and Here in Canada.
Details about Cruise’s participation in the ceremony were a pretty poorly kept secret. In the weeks leading up to it, Cruise was a mainstay at the games, with him in attendance at many events, as well as the opening ceremonies.

There are few characters that are as traumatized as the Wolverine in Marvel Comics. While his immortality and healing factors have brought him quite a lot of fortune, in the right hands, they can be just as dangerous to him. Over the years, fans have seen comic book writers get quite creative with how they torment the mutant.
Wolverine I Marvel Comics
However, none of his horrid storylines have been as disturbing as what happened in Wolverine Vol 2 165. Considered one of the dark directions taken by Marvel, the story is certainly extremely gruesome and difficult to read for fans of the character.
Wolverine Vs Mutant-Hating Hannibal Lector
In Wolverine Vol. 2 165, readers find their beloved Logan stuck in an underground prison for mutants called The Cage. While we have seen him being captured time and time again, this time was different in one significant way; the place had dampeners that...

The Marvel Studios portion of D23's "Disney Entertainment Showcase" is over and the first trailer for Daredevil: Born Again is finally here...albeit, unofficially.
The full teaser has leaked online tonight and is bound to only further increase excitement for the Daredevil revival. Along with a first look at White Tiger, we see The Punisher's reunion with Matt Murdock, Bullseye behind bars, and the Man Without Fear's many costumes.
There's also a suitably tense exchange between Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk and a surprise appearance from Ms. Marvel and The Marvels star Mohan Kapur as Kamala Khan's father, Yusuf.
The action scenes look every bit as hard-hitting as we'd hoped and an appearance from Foggy Nelson and Karen Page is sure to be welcomed.
"Marvel had been incredibly open-minded and willing to correct course, and incredibly supportive," Charlie Cox recently said of Daredevil: Born Again's creative overhaul.

Back in 1980, author Philip Nicholson, writing as A. J. Quinnell, introduced the world to a man named Creasy, an American-born former French Foreign Legion soldier, in the pages of his novel Man on Fire. While Creasy would return for four more novels – The Perfect Kill (1992), The Blue Ring (1993), Black Horn (1994), and Message From Hell (1996) – it’s Man on Fire that has received the most attention over the year, being turned into a film that starred Scott Glenn in 1987 and one that starred Denzel Washington in 2004. Now, Man on Fire is serving as the basis of a Netflix TV series that’s set to star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Aquaman) as Creasey – and Variety reports that a guest star on the show will be Bobby Cannavale, who recently starred in the hit Netflix series The Watcher.
Cannavale is taking on the role of Paul Rayburn, an “ex-Special Forces soldier who possesses a unique ability to read people.

Filming is underway in New Orleans on Goons, a new Louisiana-set horror movie from The First Purge director Gerard McMurray. Deadline reports today that Chloe Bailey and Michael Rainey Jr. (“Power”) are set to star.
McMurray co-wrote Goons with Hodge K. Johnson.
Plot details are scarce at this time, but Goons is said to be “set in the eerie backdrop of Louisiana cane fields and plantations.” Of course, the film’s title may hold clues.
“I’m beyond excited to direct a film in the horror genre. Goons is a love letter to my hometown of New Orleans, and a deeply personal story for me. Producing this film along with Confluential/New Fear Unlocked shows the power of Black storytellers with a collaborative spirit,” McMurray told Deadline.

Following two record-breaking weekends in theaters, Deadpool & Wolverine's cast and crew are finally free to talk spoilers! In a lengthy interview with Variety, director Shawn Levy started by revealing how Wesley Snipes' return as Blade happened.
Crediting Ryan Reynolds with reaching out to the actor, the filmmaker said it came down to the desire to "explore themes of legacy, characters and their endings" and give the Daywalker the send-off he never received.
He added, "Wesley has not played Blade in a long time. He and Ryan have not been in close touch in a very long time. But we made clear to Wesley that this was not going for a joke. This was out of reverence for his legacy as this iconic character."

South Korean officials revealed that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un regained weight and appears to be experiencing obesity-related health problems like high blood pressure and diabetes.
South Korea’s spy agency told lawmakers on July 29 that Kim’s doctors are seeking new medicines abroad to treat him. The North Korean dictator comes from a family with a history of heart problems. His father and grandfather both died of heart issues.
Some observers stated that Kim, who is about 5 feet, 7 inches tall and previously weighed 308 pounds, appeared to have lost a massive amount of weight back in 2021, likely due to changing his diet. However, recent videos run by the state’s controlled media show that he has regained the weight.

In 2007, some woefully misguided comedy gatekeepers decided that Joe Rogan couldn’t put asses in seats without Fear Factor boosting his public profile — sounds like someone skipped their morning Alpha Brain.
Today, in 2024, there isn’t a single comedy club in America that wouldn’t jump at the chance to host Rogan as a headliner unless they held strong convictions about vaccinations, immigration or Brendan Schaub. Through his podcast The Joe Rogan Experience, the former Fear Factor host commands a larger following than any other stand-up comedian alive, and the fiscal impact of his association with products, projects or performance venues could only be compared to how the famous “Oprah Effect” generated massive demand for businesses endorsed by Oprah Winfrey among the exact opposite population from Rogan’s following.

With just over a week to go until this year's San Diego Comic-Con takes place, excitement is building for an event which, in recent years, has ended up being a pretty low-key affair.
DC Studios will be sitting it out, but Marvel Studios plans to return for the first time since 2022 with not one, but two Hall H panels.
While their main panel will only be an hour long on Saturday night, we're expecting plenty of huge updates about what the future holds in store for the MCU and the Multiverse Saga. In this feature, we share both our predictions and the announcements and reveals we believe are most likely to blow the roof off Hall H courtesy of Kevin Feige.

Daredevil: Born Again To Feature A "Game Of Politics;" Agatha All Along Will Be So Scary, You'll Cry
The Official Marvel Podcast recently caught up with Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios' Head of Marvel Streaming, Television and Animation, and got a couple of quick updates on Agatha All Along and Daredevil: Born Again.
The former launches on Disney+ this September and will serve as a sequel to WandaVision; picking up with Agatha Harkness after she was left trapped as Agnes in Westview by the Scarlet Witch, the expectation is that the series is going to add Wiccan, Wanda Maximoff's son, to the MCU.
The stakes will be high then and, as it happens, so will the number of scares!
"Agatha is really fun but it's really scary and it gets quite dramatic," Winderbaum teased. "She's an amazing anti-hero and that show is...it lures you in with the fun of Halloween, and before you know it, you're crying."
Asked exactly how scary the show gets, he added, "It's a Marvel brand of scary.

The big reveal at the end of WandaVision wasn’t just a shock to TV watchers. Of course, Kathryn Hahn’s character Agatha stole the screen from stars Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany because, well, she’s Kathryn Hahn. But not even Marvel Zombies expected that it was Agatha all along.
That’s partially because the Agatha Harkness of Marvel Comics has little to do with the spitfire played by Hahn. The comics Agatha is an elderly woman who splits her time training Wanda and serving as nanny for the Fantastic Four, not a trickster villain.
The willingness to change up canon that WandaVision creator Jac Schaeffer showed makes the first look at Agatha All Along something of a surprise. As presented by Empire, the image shows Agatha with her own coven, consisting of some witches drawn from deep Marvel lore. Joining her is Broadway legend Patti LuPone as Lilia Calderu,...

Last October, it was announced that writer/director David Robert Mitchell and actress Maika Monroe are reteaming for a sequel to horror film It Follows, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival ten years ago. The sequel is being called They Follow – and earlier this month, Monroe promised the folks at Collider that this film will be “bigger, darker, and more f*cked up” than its predecessor. Now, during an interview with IndieWire, Monroe confirmed that the story picks up 10 years after the events of It Follows, and that she’s excited to get to work on it… especially since this is the first time in her career that she’ll have the chance to reprise a role for a sequel.
Monroe previously told IndieWire, “I really got lucky with It Follows. It sort of changed the game for the horror genre. I think back in the ’60s and ’70s and early ’80s,...

Based on Oda’s manga title, One Piece follows the otherworldly adventures of Monkey D.

Last October, it was announced that writer/director David Robert Mitchell and actress Maika Monroe are reteaming for a sequel to horror film It Follows, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival ten years ago. The sequel is being called They Follow – and in an interview with Collider, Monroe promised that this sequel will be “bigger, darker, and more f*cked up” than its predecessor.
Monroe will be reprising the role of heroine Jay Height in They Follow. She told Collider that Mitchell “wouldn’t ever make a sequel if he didn’t think it was going to top it . He’s very specific, turns down so many… He just knows what he wants to do and what he wants to make. I mean, at first I’m like, “Oh, a sequel? Where are we going to go here?” And I read it, and it’s just so f*cking good.

Back in 2015, Pixar's "Inside Out" brought us into the mind of Riley, a young girl living with her family in Minnesota. We watched as Riley grew up through the eyes of her core emotions: Joy (Amy Poehler), Sadness (Phyllis Smith), Anger (Lewis Black), Fear (Bill Hader), and Disgust (Mindy Kaling). Each of the emotions helped shape Riley's life experiences, but as she got older and dealt with the challenge of moving from Minnesota to San Francisco, it brought a lesson for both Riley and Joy.
While Joy was always trying to make sure Riley was happy, the energetic emotion had to realize that sometimes it's okay for Riley to be sad, and experiencing sadness can ultimately bring us right back to happiness. But as we left Riley on the cusp of her becoming a teenager at the end of "Inside Out," there were still many more lessons for Riley and Joy to learn.

As part of its continuing effort to make adults cry uncontrollably in front of their children, Pixar included a real emotional wallop in 2015’s Inside Out. While traversing their host’s mind, Joy and Sadness encounter Riley’s forgotten imaginary friend Bing Bong, who sacrifices his life to save theirs, ultimately fading away from existence. Just try and watch this scene without ruining your device with blubbery teardrops.
Despite the fact that this moment served as a poignant dramatization of the death of childhood, a lot of people have been clamoring for Bing Bong to return for Inside Out 2. Some fans have even concocted elaborate theories to explain possible ways that Bing Bong could be resurrected like some kind of pink elephant Jesus.
While this would arguably ruin his heartbreaking scenes from the original movie, and completely invalidate the larger point it was trying to make about child psychology,...
