"The agency will hunt you to the grave." Amazon MGM Studios has unveiled an official trailer for an action thriller film titled Canary Black, yet another of these generic, derivative action movies being dumped on video these days. This one is also skipping theaters entirely, and will be streaming on Prime Video starting in October. Does anyone care? Will anyone even watch anyway? From the director of District B13, Taken, From Paris with Love, The Gunman, Peppermint comes a new action film called Canary Black starring Kate Beckinsale. "It's more than a mission." It follows CIA operative Avery Graves as she is blackmailed by terrorists into betraying her own country to save her kidnapped husband. She must rely on her cutting-edge training and primitive fighting skills. Of course. This also stars Saffron Burrows, Ray Stevenson (Rip), Rupert Friend, Jaz Hutchins, Goran Kostic, and Ben Mills. This movie looks so exceptionally unoriginal,...

Universal Pictures revealed our first official look at Jurassic World Rebirth late last month via some promo stills and an updated logo, and as filming continues at the University of Greenwich, some new photos from the set have been shared online (via UnBoxPHD).
The official images spotlighted the movie's main characters, played by Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey, and here we have another look at the pair filming a scene indoors.
According to the official synopsis, Johansson will play covert operations expert Zora Bennett, who "attempts to secure the genetic material from the dinosaurs but ends up stranded with a civilian family on an island that holds a secret being kept from humanity for decades."
We don't have many details on Bailey's character, but he is believed to be playing a palaeontologist (no big surprise there).
Check out the photos and a brief video below.

“Diarra From Detroit” and “Black Summer” actor Béchir Sylvain has joined the starry cast of Universal’s next installment of the “Jurassic World” franchise.
The Gareth Edwards-directed dinosaur movie is written by David Koepp (screenwriter of “Jurassic Park” and its sequel “The Lost World”) and boasts an ensemble led by Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Rupert Friend, Mahershala Ali, Luna Blaise, David Iacono and Audrina Miranda.
Beginning with Steven Spielberg’s 1993 blockbuster “Jurassic Park,” Universal and the filmmaker’s Amblin Entertainment banner have produced six films that have collectively earned more than $6 billion worldwide. The latest movie — which ushers in a new era of “Jurassic World” films following the original storyline’s cross-generational conclusion with 2022’s “Jurassic World Dominion” — is set to be released in theaters on July 2, 2025.
Spielberg returns to executive produce the new film for Amblin alongside Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley, who produce via Kennedy-Marshall.

Back in January, Universal Pictures made a surprising announcement: not only did they have a new Jurassic World movie in development, but the screenplay – by original Jurassic Park screenwriter David Koepp, returning to the franchise for the first time since The Lost World: Jurassic Park – had already been written, and the movie was on the fast track to production. Soon after, we learned that it’s aiming for a July 2, 2025 theatrical release. Assembled in a mad scramble, the movie is now filming with Godzilla director Gareth Edwards at the helm… and during an interview with V Magazine, cast member Jonathan Bailey (Bridgerton) indicated that this movie is an attempt to bring the franchise back to its roots and get closer to replicating what the original Jurassic Park delivered.
Bailey said (with thanks to Coming Soon for the transcription), “I’m on a really long holiday in the jungle, pretending to run away from fake dinosaurs…...

Stars: Justice Smith, David Alan Grier, An-Li Bogan, Drew Tarver, Michaela Watkins, Aisha Hinds, Tim Baltz, Rupert Friend, Nicole Byer | Written and Directed by Kobi Libii
The debut feature from writer-director Kobi Libii, this blackly comic fantasy comedy has a solid central idea, but never quite gets to grips with its own satirical intent. Ultimately, it works better as an offbeat romantic comedy, thanks to an engaging central performance and charming chemistry between the two leads.
Justice Smith stars as Aaron Mbondo, an artist in Los Angeles whose yarn sculptures aren’t quite cutting it with the art gallery crowd. After a painful show, during which he’s mistaken for a waiter, insult is added to injury when he’s nearly beaten up by some white guys who think hes a mugger. However, he’s rescued at the last minute by Roger (David Alan Grier), a server he recognises from the gallery.

Matthew Macfadyen is looking back at his career and regretting not enjoying his experience filming 2005’s Pride and Prejudice.
The Succession alum played Mr. Darcy in Joe Wright’s adaptation of the classic Jane Austen novel playing opposite Kiera Knightley.
“I didn’t really [enjoy it],” Macfadyen said on CBS Mornings of his experience filming. “I feel bad saying that. There were moments I had a good time, but I wish I enjoyed it more. I wish I was less worried about it.”
He added, “I felt a bit miscast, like, ‘I’m not dishy enough. But it worked out.”
Despite not feeling like he was fit for the role, the Deadpool & Wolverine actor says, “The most flattering thing that happens to me now is people say, ‘Were you Mr. Darcy?’ It’s a good 20 years later. So I think, ‘I can’t be aging that badly.'”

Universal Pictures' new Jurassic World movie has been filming since mid-June (it's reportedly wrapped in Thailand and will soon move to Malta), and thanks to a reliable source, we may finally have an official title for the latest entry in the dino-disaster franchise.
We had heard that the movie was being referred to internally as Jurassic City, but according to Daniel Richtman, the official title is Jurassic World: Rebirth.
We've since learned that this title has indeed been trademarked.

Despite the film having been shot in 2016 prior to Donald Trump’s electoral college win, at the time of its premiere in 2017 at the Toronto International Film Festival “The Death of Stalin” was immediately hailed as a finger-on-the-pulse political satire. How could it not be? Coming from Armando Iannucci, one of the great humorists of his generation, known for capturing government in all of its obscene clumsiness in the U.K. with “The Thick of It” and “In the Loop,” as well as across the pond in the U.S. with the hit TV series “Veep,” “The Death of Stalin” marked the first time the writer/director took on actual history.

Besides his appearances as Nick Fury in the MCU and frequent collaborations with Quentin Tarantino, Samuel L. Jackson is also popular for getting some of the most bizarre on-screen deaths. From being blown in Django Unchained to being stabbed by a weaponized leg in Kingsman 2, and turning to dust in Avengers: Infinity War, Jackson has openly stated that he loves to die in his films.
However, when Samuel L. Jackson appeared in a minor role in Jurassic Park, his wish to get another memorable on-screen death went unfulfilled due to a unique reason, a hurricane.

As Scarlett Johansson begins filming the latest installment of Universal’s enduring dino-centric action-adventure, she received a warm welcome to Jurassic World from franchise veteran Jeff Goldblum.
Johansson, who recently outed herself as a “huge nerd” for all things Jurassic Park and Jurassic World appeared on NBC’s Today on Tuesday morning to promote her new romantic comedy, Fly Me to the Moon. As the interview with host Savannah Guthrie concluded, the Avengers star was informed that “somebody wanted to welcome you aboard to the team.”
Johansson appeared slightly perplexed but that quickly turned to a delightful smile when a video of Goldblum was played on air.
“Dr Johansson, this is Jeff Goldblum,” the veteran actor, donning his trademark glasses and a dinosaur sweater, says to the camera. “Here’s what I want to say to you. This I know: Scarlett will find a way. Don’t get eaten, unless you want to.

Scarlett Johansson confirmed to ComicBook.com that she is, in fact, headlining the next “Jurassic World” movie, which is being directed by “Rogue One” and “Godzilla” filmmaker Gareth Edwards from a script penned by David Koepp. The screenwriter is returning to the dinosaur franchise after having penned Steven Spielberg’s “Jurassic Park” (1993) and “The Lost World: Jurassic Park” (1997).
“I am an enormous ‘Jurassic Park’ fan,” Johansson said. “It is one of the first movies I remember seeing in theaters. I remember it so vividly. It was life-changing and mind blowing. I cannot express how excited I am.”
Johansson said “the script is so incredible” for the fourth “Jurassic World” movie, which will be an entirely new story that’s separate from the first “Jurassic World” trilogy that starred Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. All three “Jurassic World” movies grossed more than $1 billion each at the worldwide box office. Johansson is...

You may recall that the late Jimmy Buffett made a cameo appearance in Jurassic World as an attendee of the park who “saves” two margaritas during the dimorphodon attack. It’s a funny moment, but now his character will become an official Mattel action figure.

The Jurassic World Jimmy Buffett action figure “wears his island apparel, including sunglasses and flip-flops. After a couple of far-from-perfect sequels, the Jurassic franchise was rebooted with Jurassic World in 2015. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard were chosen to lead the series, with only one movie set in the newly minted "Jurassic World" theme park before it all came crashing down.
The trilogy, which also included Fallen Kingdom and Dominion, was a financial success for Universal Pictures, with all three instalments grossing over $1 billion each. However, Dominion's takings dropped significantly from its predecessors and reviews were not kind.
Now, the idea is to reboot the series again or at least continue it with a new cast which, so far, includes Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Rupert Friend, and - if talks work out - Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali.
