John Kupfer, 94, sat in his home surrounded by a fraction of the Christmas collection curated by his late-wife Marian at their home in Virginia Beach on Friday, Sept. 13.

Marian passed away at 89 and spent most of the later part of her life traveling with her husband and creating her extensive collection.

The majority-antique collection that features hundreds of ornaments, numerous trees and thousands of other knick-knacks grew so large that most of it stayed up year-round in their home.

Now that John is unable to live on his own, his family made the decision to host an estate sale before selling the house so others can enjoy the collection Marian spent so much time on.

An estate sale, located at 716 Severn Dr., begins Thursday, Sept. 19 and continues through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.
