Kyle LaLonde, who served as a Virginia Beach police officer, pleaded guilty Wednesday to sex crimes involving children.

LaLonde, 31, pleaded guilty to 11 felony counts, including possession of child pornography, possession of bestiality, proposing sex acts to a child under 15 years old and attempted indecent liberties. According to court documents, LaLonde created a KIK messaging account and began texting with an FBI agent posing as a 12-year-old girl from September 2023 to March 2024.

Court records say during those conversations, LaLonde sent “several sexually explicit messages.” LaLonde asked for sexual acts from the agent and sent pornography. Investigators used the IP address to trace the account to LaLonde. Law enforcement also found images of child pornography and evidence of bestiality on his personal cell phone and computer.

LaLonde’s sentencing is scheduled for January.
