Police are investigating the shooting death of a man found early Monday in Gary.

According to a release from the Gary Police, officers found a 25-year-old man outside a home in the 2000 block of McKinley Street at 12:30 a.m. Monday who had been shot multiple times and was unresponsive. Witnesses reported hearing gunshots at that time.

The Lake County Coroner’s office pronounced the man dead from gunshot wounds at 1:40 a.m. Monday.

The victim, who has not been identified, was unable to be resuscitated on scene and died as a result of the shooting, police said.
