Meyer (upper body) is listed with the first practice group for Thursday's on-ice session at Anaheim's training camp.
Meyer is not a lock for the NHL roster, so it's a good sign he's ready to compete for a spot right away. The 27-year-old winger was hurt late in the NHL campaign after producing two points in 14 games with the Blue Jackets. He also had 22 goals and 15 assists in 55 outings with AHL Cleveland.

Ducks' Brock McGinn: Ready to rock
McGinn (back) is listed with the Ducks' second practice group for the first on-ice day of training camp Thursday.
McGinn ended last season on injured reserve due to a disc surgery on his back. He was given a four-month timeline in late March, so it's no surprise he's available for the start of camp. Injuries limited the veteran forward to three points in 24 games last season. McGinn will be in contention for a depth role in 2024-25 and may end up spending most of his playing time on the fourth line.

Ducks' Mason McTavish: Set to skate Day 1
McTavish (knee) is set to skate Thursday when the Ducks have their first on-ice session for training camp.
McTavish avoided surgery this offseason while recovering from a sprained MCL in his knee. The 21-year-old will line up between Troy Terry and Trevor Zegras during the second group's practice session. McTavish could be an option at center or on the wing in 2024-25, but he's likely to maintain a top-six role after producing 42 points in 64 contests last season.

Gaucher has a lower-body injury and is considered day-to-day ahead of training camp.

Mintyukov is dealing with a lower-body injury and is day-to-day to begin training camp.
Mintyukov ended 2023-24 with a bone bruise, though it's unclear if the injury keeping him out early in camp is the same one. The 20-year-old defenseman produced 28 points in 63 games as a rookie last year and should be in contention for a top-four role this season. It's unclear at this time if he'll be ready to go when the Ducks begin their preseason slate Tuesday against the Sharks.

Ducks' Beckett Sennecke: Return timeline improves
Sennecke (foot) is no longer using a walking boot and may be able to return in 2-4 weeks, per Derek Lee of The Hockey News on Thursday.
Lee reports Sennecke may be an option in the Ducks' later preseason games. The Ducks play Utah on Oct. 2 and face the Sharks on Oct. 4 for their last two preseason contests. While it's encouraging Sennecke is healing faster than the initial 6-8 week timeline, he's still unlikely to be an NHL option in 2024-25.

Ducks' Boris Katchouk: Gets tryout chance with Anaheim
Katchouk signed a professional tryout agreement with the Ducks on Wednesday, Patrick Present of The Hockey News reports.
Katchouk split last year between the Blackhawks and the Senators, collecting 13 points, 70 shots on net and 82 hits over 59 contests. The 26-year-old has spent the bulk of the last three years in the NHL, though the Ducks are unlikely to sign him if it would mean blocking a prospect from moving up. If Katchouk spends 2024-25 with Anaheim, he'll likely play on the fourth line.

Ducks' Mark Pysyk: Pens PTO with Ducks
Pysyk signed a professional tryout agreement with Anaheim on Thursday, according to Kevin Allen of Detroit Hockey Now.
Pysyk last played in the NHL during the 2021-22 season, when he had three goals, nine assists and 85 blocked shots in 68 regular-season games. Pysyk played 37 AHL games last season, picking up four assists. He is a long shot to make the Ducks' lineup and likely will play once again in the AHL.

Lindstrom penned a professional tryout agreement with Anaheim on Thursday, Keith Allen of Detroit Hockey Now reports.
Lindstrom was not qualified by the Ducks in June and comes back on a tryout basis. Lindstrom had three goals and 10 points in 46 regular-season games last season, split between Anaheim and Montreal. He will battle for the seventh spot on the blue line in training camp.

Suchanek has undergone surgery for a ruptured ACL and is expected to need 6-8 months to recover, the team announced Thursday.
Suchanek had a 2.92 GAA and a .910 save percentage in 29 contests with AHL San Diego in 2023-24. The 21-year-old was unlikely to play for the Ducks this season, but this injury will impact the franchise's organizational depth. Given the timetable, a best-case scenario would involve Suchanek returning before the end of the campaign.

Luneau had one goal and two assists in seven regular-season appearances with the Ducks in 2023-24. However, he didn't return to the ice after being diagnosed with a knee infection shortly after being loaned to Canada for the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship. Luneau will get a chance to get back on track in the Rookie Faceoff before attending training camp with the Ducks. Nesterenko signed a one-year, two-way contract with Anaheim on Monday.
According to Eric Stephens of The Athletic, Nesterenko can earn $874,125 if he plays in the NHL during the upcoming campaign. The 22-year-old Nesterenko registered 16 goals and 37 points in 70 regular-season outings for AHL San Diego in 2023-24. He also had one goal, seven shots on net and seven hits in three NHL outings with Anaheim. Nesterenko will likely begin the 2024-25 campaign in the minors.

Fabbri and a conditional fourth-round pick in 2025 were traded from the Red Wings to the Ducks on Wednesday in exchange for Gage Alexander.
Fabbri enjoyed relatively good health in 2023-24, posting 32 points in 68 contests. The 28-year-old will still end up as a cap casualty for the Red Wings, as they moved his $4 million cap hit to Anaheim to clear space after signing Vladimir Tarasenko at a $4.5 million cap hit. Fabbri should contend for a middle-six role and power-play time with the Ducks.
