  • Panthers' A'Shawn Robinson: Making progress on knee issue

Robinson (knee) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports.

Robinson opened the week as a DNP on Wednesday, but he was able to practice Thursday, albeit in a limited capacity. The 2016 second-round pick would need to be a full participant in Friday's practice to avoid an injury designation ahead of Sunday's game against the Raiders. Robinson has recorded 15 tackles (11 solo) across the first two games of the regular season.

  • Panthers' Tommy Tremble: Stays limited Thursday

Tremble (hamstring/back) was limited at Thursday's practice, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports.

Opening Week 3 prep with consecutive capped sessions due to hamstring and back issues leaves Tremble with some work to do to avoid a designation on Friday's injury report. Assuming he ultimately is able to suit up Sunday at Las Vegas, he'll be vying with rookie fourth-round pick Ja'Tavion Sanders for TE reps in an Andy Dalton-led offense.

  • Panthers' Tarron Jackson: Joins active roster

The Panthers signed Jackson to their active roster Thursday.

Jackson spent the last three weeks with Carolina's practice squad, but he's now been promoted to the team's active roster. The Coastal Carolina product most recently appeared in a regular-season game in 2022 with the Eagles, where he failed to record a single stat while playing 38 total snaps (26 defensive and 12 on special teams) across four contests.

  • Panthers' Bryce Young: Not on trade block

Panthers head coach Dave Canales said Wednesday that trading Young is "not something we're really considering," David Newton of ESPN.com reports. "We have a great situation with our quarterbacks right now with guys that have experience," Canales said. "We love where we are at, and it's all hands on deck."

After the Panthers were outscored 73-13 over the first two weeks of the season, Canales made the decision to pull the plug on Young, tabbing steady veteran Andy Dalton to replace the 2023 No. 1 overall pick as the team's starting quarterback. In the two losses, Young failed to show any noticeable sign of improvement from his rough rookie season, completing just 31 of 56 passes (55.4 percent) for 245 yards (4.4 YPA), zero touchdowns and three interceptions. Only 10 of his 56 throws produced a first down, and Young took six sacks. The Panthers are hoping a hard reset will help Young realize his potential, but Canales didn't entirely dismiss the notion of the organization moving on from the 23-year-old signal-caller.

  • Panthers' A'Shawn Robinson: Misses Wednesday's practice

Robinson (knee) didn't practice Wednesday, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports.

The 29-year-old defensive end played 41 snaps and made six total tackles during Sunday's loss to the Chargers, but it appears he suffered a knee injury in the process. Robinson will likely need to upgrade to at least limited participation either Thursday or Friday in order to suit up in Week 3.

  • Panthers' Tommy Tremble: Remains limited this week

Tremble (hamstring/back) practiced in a limited fashion Wednesday, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports.

Tremble made his season debut this past Sunday against the Chargers, earning a 46 percent share of snaps and reeling in three of four targets for 23 yards. Meanwhile, rookie tight end Ja'Tavion Sanders logged two more snaps (24 versus 22), but his two catches on as many targets went for just eight yards. Assuming Tremble is able to play through his health concerns moving forward, he should continue to start and perhaps even increase his workload as the season goes on.

  • Panthers' Tommy Tremble: Makes season debut

Tremble made three catches on four targets for 23 yards in Sunday's 26-3 loss to the Chargers.

Tremble made his season debut Sunday after lingering hamstring and back issues kept him from playing in the Panthers' blowout loss to the Saints in Week 1. He essentially split snaps with rookie Ja'Tavion Sanders in his return, as both tight ends saw the field for about 50 percent of the team's plays on offense. Tremble's workload could increase in future weeks, as he was expected to be the team's No. 1 option at the position before missing Week 1. Even if Tremble takes on a more sizable snap share, his fantasy outlook still appears bleak, though the quarterback change from Bryce Young to Andy Dalton should generally be beneficial for all of the team's pass catchers.
