  • Mariners' Andres Munoz: Strikes out side for 22nd save

Munoz struck out the side in the ninth to earn the save Thursday against the Yankees.

Munoz needed 14 pitches to strike out the side in the ninth in collecting his 22nd save. He's allowed just one total baserunner over his last five appearances, collecting one win, three saves and seven strikeouts over five innings during that stretch.

  • Mariners' Logan Gilbert: Reaches 200 Ks in win

Gilbert (8-11) earned the win Thursday, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks over 5.1 innings against the Yankees. He struck out nine.

Gilbert was afforded an early three-run lead then held the Yankees in check, with the only damage coming by way of a two-run homer in the third off the bat of Jazz Chisholm. Gilbert's whiff of Giancarlo Stanton to end the first gave him 200 on the season, marking the first time in Gilbert's four-year career he's reached the 200-strikeout milestone. He ended the day with nine strikeouts, one shy of matching a season high. Gilbert is set up to make two more starts this season, with his next one slated to take place in Houston against the first-place Astros.

  • Mariners' Victor Robles: Scratched from lineup

Robles (hand) was scratched from Thursday's lineup against the Yankees.

Robles had been set to return to action in the designated hitter slot after missing Wednesday's game with a bruised right hand, but evidently he's still feeling some discomfort. Jorge Polanco will move into the DH spot and Dylan Moore will enter the lineup at second base.

  • Mariners' Brandyn Garcia: Good showing for Travelers

Garcia logged a 2.83 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 49:21 K:BB in 47.2 innings across 13 starts for Double-A Arkansas this season.

Garcia has a few obvious things going for him, in that he's a lefty in a good developmental organization for pitching prospects with a pitcher-friendly big-league park. His stuff is decent enough to potentially profile in the middle of the rotation, but his command is iffy and he walked 10.1 percent of batters at Double-A as a 24-year-old. Garcia was lights out earlier in the year against younger hitters at High-A, logging a 1.84 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, 85 strikeouts and a 59.5 percent groundball rate in 68.1 innings.

  • Mariners' Victor Robles: Returns to Seattle lineup

Robles (hand) will start in the designated hitter spot and bat leadoff in Thursday's game versus the Yankees.

Robles was removed from Tuesday's game due to a right hand contusion and didn't start Wednesday's contest. The 27-year-old did enter as a pinch runner Wednesday and is back in at the top of the batting order for Thursday's series finale.

  • Mariners' Collin Snider: Hit with loss in quality outing

Snider (3-4) was charged with the extra-inning loss against the Yankees on Wednesday, allowing an unearned run on one hit over two innings. He struck out three.

Snider was a tough-luck loser and victim of the Mariners' offensive ineptitude Wednesday, as he put together a near-perfect outing that saw him throw 17 of 20 pitches for strikes. However, the right-hander faltered in the 10th inning by allowing a leadoff double to Anthony Rizzo, which plated phantom runner Jasson Dominguez to snap a 1-1 tie. Snider has given up just one earned run over his last 9.2 innings (nine appearances), and although he does have four holds to show for it, he's also taken two of his four losses on the season during that stretch.

  • Mariners' Bryce Miller: Fans eight in quality start

Miller did not factor into the decision in an extra-inning loss to the Yankees on Wednesday, allowing one run on two hits and four walks over six innings. He struck out eight.

The Yankees got to Miller for one run in the second after the right-hander allowed a one-out walk, followed by an RBI single off the bat of Anthony Rizzo. However, the 26-year-old would recover nicely, hurling four scoreless frames before being relieved by Troy Taylor to open the seventh. Miller was unable to come away with the win, but he was able to log his third consecutive quality start while striking out at least seven batters for the third time in his last five outings. He now carries a 1.99 ERA in September (four starts) to go along with a 23:10 K:BB.

  • Mariners' Victor Robles: Remains out Wednesday

Robles (hand) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Yankees.

Robles made an early exit from Tuesday's game due to a bruised right hand, and though X-rays revealed no structural damage, lingering soreness will prevent him from starting Wednesday. While Robles sits, Randy Arozarena, Julio Rodriguez and Mitch Haniger will make up Seattle's outfield trio.

  • Mariners' Josh Rojas: Getting rest against lefty

Rojas isn't in the Mariners' lineup Wednesday against the Yankees.

Rojas and his .342 OPS against southpaws this season will grab a seat on the bench Wednesday as left-hander Nestor Cortes starts for New York. Dylan Moore will pick up a start at the hot corner as a result and bat ninth.

  • Mariners' Luke Raley: Sitting against lefty

Raley isn't in Seattle's lineup Wednesday versus the Yankees.

With southpaw Nestor Cortes set to start on the bump for New York, the lefty-hitting Raley will step out of the lineup Wednesday. His absence will put Justin Turner at first base while Mitch Garver works as the DH.

  • Mariners' Bryan Woo: Pummeled for seven runs

Woo (8-3) took the loss Tuesday against the Yankees, allowing seven runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out seven over 4.2 innings.

Woo had his worst outing of the season, tying his season-high in hits allowed and setting a new high for runs allowed while failing to reach five innings for the first time since July 27. The Yankees got to him for a pair of runs in the first and second innings before Juan Soto and Jasson Dominguez went deep in the fourth and fifth, respectively, to add on another three runs. Woo still struck out seven, tying his season high, and he had 20 whiffs on the evening. He'll carry a 2.85 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 89:11 K:BB in 110.1 innings into a meeting with the Rangers over the weekend.

  • Mariners' Julio Rodriguez: Four hits Tuesday

Rodriguez went 4-for-5 with a double in Tuesday's loss to the Yankees.

Rodriguez recorded four hits for the second time in his last four games, but unlike the previous game, he did not drive in any runs nor did he cross the plate himself. Regardless, the 23-year-old has now hit safely in 15 of his last 18 games, slashing .364/.414/.610 with five homers, 14 RBI, 17 runs, four steals and an 8:14 BB:K in 88 plate appearances over that span in what's been his most productive stretch of the season.

  • Mariners' Luke Raley: Goes deep in loss

Raley went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's loss to the Yankees.

Raley hit his second home run in his last two starts and his fifth overall this month. He's now hit safely in four straight and seven of his last eight, and he's batting .319 in 14 games in September. In just his second full MLB season, Raley has recorded 21 homers, 55 RBI and 55 runs, all of which are career bests for the 29-year-old.

  • Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Homers Tuesday

Polanco went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's loss to the Yankees.

Polanco got the Mariners on the board early with a solo home run off Luis Gil in the second inning. The home run was just his second extra-base hit and sixth hit overall in 53 plate appearance since Aug. 30, a span during which he's hit just .128. Polanco is having by far the least productive campaign of his career, slashing just .203/.292/.346 with 15 homers, 40 RBI, 41 runs, four steals and a 44:129 BB:K in 428 plate appearances.
