  • Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: Wraps up productive homestand

Tovar went 1-for-4 with two RBI on Wednesday against the Diamondbacks.

The performance wrapped up a productive six-game homestand for Tovar, as he went 7-for-26 with three home runs, six RBI and four runs scored. He's enjoyed a breakout season, highlighted by 25 homers and a .202 ISO -- a 47-point improvement from 2023.

  • Rockies' Austin Gomber: Early exit Wednesday

Gomber (5-11) took the loss Wednesday as the Rockies were downed 9-4 by the Diamondbacks, coughing up six runs (five earned) on six hits and a walk over two innings. He struck out one.

Three of the hits off Gomber left the yard, including two by Corbin Carroll, as the southpaw stumbled through his shortest outing of the season. Gomber had been on a roll, working at least six innings in six straight trips to the mound with a 3.00 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 27:8 K:BB over 39 innings, but that hot streak came to crashing halt in Coors Field. He's scheduled to make one more start this year, facing the Cardinals at home next week.

  • Rockies' Kyle Karros: Strong showing for Spokane

Karros slashed .311/.390/.485 with 15 home runs and 12 steals in 123 games for High-A Spokane.

Thirteen-year big-leaguer Eric Karros has two sons who are legitimate prospects in Kyle and Dodgers pitching prospect Jared Karros. Kyle, a third baseman dating back to his freshman year at UCLA, did a little bit of everything this year while taking advantage of the hitter-friendly environment at Spokane. Karros, a fifth-round pick in 2023 who commanded a $433,500 bonus, has the glove to be a big-league third baseman but it will be an uphill battle for him to prove he can do enough damage offensively to profile at the hot corner.

  • Rockies' Nolan Jones: Out of Colorado lineup

Jones is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Diamondbacks.

Jones started the first two games of the series, going 0-for-5 with a couple walks. He'll get the day off Wednesday against lefty Eduardo Rodriguez, with Sam Hilliard taking over in left field.

  • Rockies' Charlie Blackmon: On bench against lefty

Blackmon is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

The lefty-hitting Blackmon will hit the bench for the second day in a row while Arizona sends another southpaw (Eduardo Rodriguez) to the bump. Jacob Stallings will serve as the Rockies' designated hitter in Blackmon's stead.

  • Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Taking seat versus southpaw

McMahon is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

The Diamondbacks are sending southpaw Eduardo Rodriguez to the hill in the matinee, so the left-handed-hitting McMahon will begin the game on the bench. Aaron Schunk is at third base and batting ninth for the Rockies.

  • Rockies' Nolan Jones: Struggles continuing

Jones went 0-for-3 with a walk, a run scored and a stolen base Tuesday against the Diamondbacks.

Jones has had a miserable September, tallying only five hits across 31 at-bats paired with a 34.2 percent strikeout rate. He also hasn't homered since June 29, leading to a .095 ISO on the campaign. Jones is still getting regular at-bats against righties for the time being, though Sam Hilliard has been far more productive of late.

  • Rockies' Jordan Beck: Posts steal in win

Beck went 2-for-4 with a double, one RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Tuesday's 8-2 win over the Diamondbacks.

This was Beck's first multi-hit effort since Aug. 16. He's up to seven steals on the year, recording five of them over his last 19 contests. The outfielder has added a poor .204/.259/.299 slash line with three home runs, 13 RBI, 14 runs scored and six doubles over 170 plate appearances across two stints in the majors this year.

  • Rockies' Hunter Goodman: Homers in consecutive games

Goodman went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 8-2 win over the Diamondbacks.

Goodman's power surge continues -- he's homered in back-to-back games and has swatted five long balls over his last seven contests. He's also gone 7-for-24 (.292) in that span, a significant improvement over his .192 batting average for the year. Goodman is up to 13 homers, 34 RBI, 23 runs scored and a .663 OPS through 206 plate appearances.

  • Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: Achieves 25-homer season

Tovar went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, an additional RBI and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 8-2 win over the Diamondbacks.

Tovar supplied a solo shot in the third inning and an RBI single in the sixth. The shortstop has homered three times over his last five games, going 6-for-22 (.273) in that span. This is his first 25-homer campaign, and he's added a .266/.293/.469 slash line with 70 RBI, 80 runs scored and six stolen bases over 147 contests.

  • Rockies' Ryan Feltner: Cruises to win

Feltner (3-10) allowed one run on five hits and two walks while striking out two over 6.2 innings to earn the win over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

Feltner has had limited success this year, but he's allowed more than two runs just once in five starts since he returned from a shoulder injury. That span also includes two of his three wins on the year. Feltner has a 4.73 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 129:49 K:BB through 150.1 innings over 28 starts this year. His next start is projected to be at home versus the Cardinals.

  • Rockies' Charlie Blackmon: Out against left-hander

Blackmon is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Diamondbacks.

Southpaw Jordan Montgomery is on the hill for Arizona, so the left-handed-hitting Blackmon will grab a seat. Hunter Goodman will fill the designated-hitter spot for Colorado.

  • Rockies' Hunter Goodman: Smacks 12th homer

Goodman went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Monday's 3-2 win over the Diamondbacks.

Goodman came up big with a game-tying home run off Kevin Ginkel in the seventh inning. The 24-year-old catcher has started six of the Rockies last eight games and has four homers over that stretch. Goodman has been a pleasant surprise in the power department with 12 homers in 64 games this season, but he lacks in other categories as he's hitting just .190 with a .651 OPS.

  • Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: Homers in win

Tovar went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and two strikeouts in Monday's 3-2 win over the Diamondbacks.

Tovar showed of his power Monday when he took Merrill Kelly deep to the right-center field bullpen. It was Tovar's 24th homer of the season, which ties him with Michael Toglia for the team lead. Tovar entered August slashing .290/.314/.491 but has struggled mightily since to the tune of .194/.229/.388 with six homers and 16 RBI over his last 40 games.

  • Rockies' Antonio Senzatela: Goes three innings in season debut

Senzatala (elbow) came away with a no-decision in Monday's 3-2 win over the Diamondbacks. He struck out two over three innings while allowing two earned runs on four hits and two walks.

After completing his recovery from the Tommy John procedure he underwent last July, Senzatela made his 2024 debut for the Rockies. He got off to a rough start, allowing a triple and home run to the first two batters he faced. However, Senzatela settled in nicely after that to get through three innings, though it took him 67 pitches to record his nine outs. He could see his workload ramp up while he likely makes two more starts before season's end.
