  • Yankees' Carlos Rodon: Stymies rival to earn 15th win

Rodon (15-9) earned the win Sunday, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks over 5.1 innings against the Red Sox. He struck out five.

Rodon served up a third-inning homer to Tyler O'Neill, the fifth long ball he's allowed over the past four starts, but otherwise held the Red Sox in check to collect his 15th win. Rodon recorded one out following a leadoff double in the sixth but was subsequently pulled after 88 pitches, rendering him two outs shy of a quality start. It was the seventh time in his last 10 starts that Rodon has allowed two runs or fewer over five or more innings, and he has posted a 3.18 ERA across 56.2 innings with 74 strikeouts over that stretch. The veteran lefty is excelling as the Yankees are making their push toward the AL East pennant. Next up for the surging Rodon is a matchup in Oakland against the hapless A's.

  • Yankees' Carlos Rodon: Nabs quality start

Rodon didn't factor into the decision Monday against Kansas City, allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits and a walk across six innings. He struck out nine.

Rodon fanned eight or more batters for a third straight start but gave up his third and fourth home runs of that stretch Monday. Both long balls charged to Rodon were solo shots, coming off the bats of Salvador Perez and Hunter Renfroe. Still, the left-handed pitcher held on for the quality start. Rodon is tentatively scheduled for a home start against the Red Sox this weekend.

  • Yankees' Carlos Rodon: Fans 11 in no-decision

Rodon allowed one run on one hit and two walks while striking out 11 over six innings in a no-decision versus the Rangers on Tuesday.

The lone hit run on Rodon's line was a solo home run by Josh Jung in the fourth inning. The Yankees pulled ahead 2-1 in the seventh, but the bullpen couldn't hold the lead, denying Rodon his 15th victory of the year. It was still an excellent performance for the southpaw, who has alternated between good and poor outings since the start of August. He's allowed 13 runs over 32 innings in that span and now has a 4.19 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 172:49 K:BB through 152.1 innings overall. Rodon's next start is projected to be at home versus the Royals.

  • Yankees' Carlos Rodon: Falls flat against Nats

Rodon (14-9) took the loss against Washington on Wednesday, allowing five runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out eight batters over 5.2 innings.

Rodon fell behind on his second pitch of the game when he served up Dylan Crews' first major-league homer. Things didn't get much better for the southpaw from there, as he gave up another run in the first frame, two more in the second and a fifth and final run in the fourth. Rodon managed to induce 16 whiffs and notch a healthy eight punchouts, but he also had five bases stolen on his watch and was bit by a wild pitch and a balk. The veteran hurler has been frustratingly inconsistent of late -- he's hurled two scoreless outings among his past five starts, but in the other three appearances during that stretch he's given up a combined 12 runs over 14.1 innings.

  • Yankees' Carlos Rodon: Fires six scoreless for 14th win

Rodon (14-8) earned the win against the Rockies on Friday, allowing four hits and one walk while striking out five over six scoreless innings.

Rodon generated 14 swinging strikes on 102 pitches and tallied three separate 1-2-3 innings to log his first quality start in four August outings. The southpaw has recorded five or more punchouts in 10 consecutive starts and is now tied for the major-league lead in wins with 14. On the season, he owns a 4.16 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 153:45 K:BB across 140.2 innings and lines up to face the Nationals on the road next week.

  • Yankees' Carlos Rodon: Struggles early in loss

Rodon (13-8) took the loss against the Tigers on Saturday, allowing four runs on seven hits and one walk with five strikeouts over 3.1 innings.

Rodon was burned by a three-run second inning in his shortest outing of the season. He entered Saturday on a four-game win streak but has now failed to log a quality start in any of his three August outings. On the year, the southpaw owns a 4.34 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 148:44 K:BB across 134.2 innings and lines up for a home matchup with the Guardians next week.

  • Yankees' Carlos Rodon: Blanks Texas for 13th win

Rodon (13-7) picked up the win in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Rangers, allowing three hits and five walks over 5.2 scoreless innings. He struck out six.

The southpaw wasn't exactly sharp as he set a new season high in free passes, but Rodon kept Texas from cashing in the extra baserunners en route to his fourth straight win. He was lifted after 110 pitches (64 strikes), falling just short of his 13th quality start of the year. Rodon has given up three runs or less in five straight outings, posting a 2.54 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 38:13 K:BB through 28.1 innings over that stretch. He'll look to keep rolling in his next start, which is scheduled to come next weekend on the road in Detroit.
