You may want to copy content to another part of the page or somewhere else on your site. This guide will show you several methods for copying and moving content in the WordPress Editor.

To copy a single block, take the following steps:
- Click on the block you wish to copy.
- In the toolbar that appears, click the ellipses (three dots) at the end of the toolbar.
- Click the “Copy” option.
- Go to the spot you wish to add the block to.
- On a new line, right-click and select “Paste” or, using your keyboard, press Control + V on Windows or Command + C on Mac.
To copy more than one block, take the following steps:
- Open List View by clicking the icon that looks like three horizontal lines at the top of the screen.
- Click on the first block, hold down the Shift key on your keyboard, and click on the last block. This will select all blocks between the first and last blocks.
- Click the ellipses (three dots).
- Click the “Copy” option.
- Go to the spot you wish to add the block to.
- On a new line, right-click and select “Paste” or, using your keyboard, press Control + V on Windows or Command + C on Mac.
If you need to copy specific blocks from one page or template to another, follow these steps:
- Visit your site’s dashboard.
- Go to Appearance → Editor.
- Click “Pages” or “Templates” and select the page or template you want to copy the content from.
- Select the blocks you want to move. There are several methods to do this:
- Click and drag your mouse over all the blocks.
- Click on the first block, hold down the Shift key on your keyboard, and click on the last block. This will select all blocks between the first and last blocks. (This action is demonstrated in the video below.)
- In List View, click on the first block, hold down the Shift key on your keyboard, and click on the last block. This will select all blocks between the first and last blocks.
- Click the ellipses (three dots) menu to the right of one of the block names, and select “Copy” from the menu.
- Navigate to the template or page you want to add the content to, either by clicking the site icon in the upper left corner or by using the editor command palette.
- Paste the blocks you copied from earlier. You can do this by placing your cursor on a new line, right-clicking and choosing “Paste” or, using your keyboard, press Control + V on Windows or Command + C on Mac.
Within the editor, you can copy all the content of a template, including the header and footer, to then paste into another template:
- Visit your site’s dashboard.
- Go to Appearance → Editor.
- Click “Templates” and select the template you want to copy the content from.
- Click the ellipses (three dots) menu in the top-right corner of the editor.
- Select the “Copy all blocks” option. This copies all the blocks to your device’s clipboard.
- Navigate to the template you want to add the content to, either by clicking the site icon in the upper left corner or by using the editor command palette.
- Paste the blocks you copied from earlier by right-clicking and choosing “Paste“ or, using your keyboard, press Control + V on Windows or Command + C on Mac.

If you’re replacing the content of an existing template, remove all of the blocks in that template before pasting the new content. An example of how to remove existing content is included in the video below.
Creating a reusable block pattern will save a significant amount of time if you plan to use the same content in several places throughout your site. Patterns are collections of blocks that retain content, style, formatting, and layout. Patterns can be reused on any template, page, or post.
