Noomi Rapace returns from outer space to a sliiiiightly different world in the trailer for Constellation, a new Apple TV+ sci-fi drama due for arrival on Wednesday, Feb. 21 (with its first three episodes, followed by weekly releases).
Created and written by Peter Harness (Wallander, The War of the Worlds), Constellation stars Swedish actress Rapace (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo) as Jo, an astronaut for the European Space Agency who returns to Earth after a disastrous mission, only to discover that key pieces of her life seem to be… different.
The eight-part, conspiracy-based psychological thriller promises “an exploration of the dark edges of human psychology, and one woman’s desperate quest to expose the truth about the hidden history of space travel and recover all that she has lost.”
The Constellation cast also boasts Emmy nominee Jonathan Banks (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul) as Henry, a Nobel Prize-winning physicist who has a member of Jo’s team conducting important research at the International Space Station, and James D’Arcy (Agent Carter) as Jo’s husband Magnus, plus Julian Looman (The Mallorca Files) William Catlett (Black Lightning), Barbara Sukowa (The Swarm), and Rosie and Davina Coleman (The Larkins) as Jo and Magnus’ daughter Alice.
Constellation is directed by Emmy winner Michelle MacLaren (Breaking Bad), Oscar nominee Oliver Hirschbiegel (Downfall) and Oscar nominee Joseph Cedar (Beaufort).
Seems similar to the Twilight Zone episode, The Parallel. In that, an astronaut has a black out in space, and wakes up in a world that is slightly different from the one he left behind.
Love Rapace, I will definitely check this out. I think her pod scene in Prometheus doesn’t get enough attention as one of the best horror scenes. Happy to go back to space with her.
I see he effort of being good and epic but all i see is nonsense i dont want to wrap my head around. Would be more entertaining if it was a straight forward alternate world she landed on Instead of trying to blow ur mind in a awkward way
Go watch Barbie movie then 10th time! It seems suitable for your intelligence.
Halle Berry also starred in the similar series on tv several years ago. It lasted two seasons. It also involved her child sort of like an invisible alien.
Glad to see Jonathan Banks getting work! Looking forward to seeing him on my small screen again!
Josh, I had same thought. It really became clear when in one dimension she had a red car, but in the other dimension she had a blue car. That’s just like the Twilight zone episode where one dimension had a white picket fence and the other didn’t. I have to say though that I love the Twilight zone episode more, because of the scene where his wife kisses him and realizes that he’s not the same man. Gave me chills.
