What Reelgood users are saying

"Abigail" is a fun, bloody vampire horror-comedy with a mix of 80s nostalgia and modern style. It features good effects, a terrific cast, and lots of gore. However, it suffers from predictable plot points, one-dimensional characters, and a subpar final act. Some found the writing amateurish and the execution clumsy, while others appreciated its humor and unexpected twists. The film includes common horror tropes and has been criticized for lack of originality and depth.

This film is bad.The cast is terrific. The special effects are fine. The cinematography is fine. It seems like a film with a decent budget behind it. Unfortunately, the writing is just painfully bad and amateurish. You'll figure out EVERY. SINGLE. STORY BEAT within the first fifteen minutes. The rest of it is just a boring mash of action. Better writing and pacing could have made this creepy and scary and even terrifying. Instead, you just find yourself sitting through the last 80 minutes, waiting for it to end. Subverts absolutely no expectations and does absolutely nothing new or interesting.
