Ryan Gosling is already a big fan of Eva Mendes’ new book.

Speaking with Extra on April 30 at the Los Angeles premiere of his new movie The Fall Guy, Gosling, 43, was quick to share his support for his partner and her writing. Mendes’s bilingual children’s book, Desi, Mami, and the Never-Ending Worries, hits shelves this fall.

“It’s a wonderful book,” Gosling said of the title, forthcoming from Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group. “It’s also in Spanish. I highly recommend it.”

The book, illustrated by Abbey Bryant, follows a young girl named Desi who learns to overcome nighttime fears with the help of her mother. Mendes, 50, told PEOPLE in February that Desi was a “love letter” to her and Gosling’s own daughters, Esmeralda, 9, and Amada, 8.

“Inspired by our own nightly events with my daughters, Desi and Mami learn from each other on facing our monsters — whether under our bed or in our head,” Mendes said.

Gosling, who also wore a t-shirt featuring the book’s title during the UK press tour for The Fall Guy, added at the premiere that Mendes’ latest project is “such a beautiful book.”

“We read a lot of kids’ books and it’s one of the best I have read,” he said. “It’s really about something and beautiful.”

The Barbie star also opened up about the mutual support in his relationship with Mendes, who he has been with since 2011.

"She is with the girls, and when she works, I stay home with the girls too," he said. "I couldn’t be here without her."

"She’s also like my acting coach,” he continued. “She has really become the best acting coach I have ever had, it's endless how she helps me.”

Gosling wasn’t the only the actor showing off at the April 30 movie premiere. After posing with costar Emily Blunt in formal attire on the red carpet, Gosling was joined by Saturday Night Live cast member Mikey Day. The two dressed up as Beavis and Butt-Head, paying homage to their viral sketch on the April 13 episode of the late night comedy show.
