Chappell Roan is your favorite knight in shining armor's favorite knight in shining armor.

On Wednesday, Sept. 11, the pop star, 26, performed her hit single "Good Luck, Babe!" at the 2024 MTV VMAs, which took place at New York’s UBS Arena.

Before launching into her set, Roan — who features drag performers as her opening acts on tour — was introduced by RuPaul's Drag Race alum Sasha Colby. The "Naked in Manhattan" artist sported a suit of armor, seemingly inspired by Joan of Arc, while she sang the hit track.

At the start of her performance, Roan appeared behind bars in a medieval castle with a crossbow in hand. The "My Kink Is Karma" singer was then set free and joined by several male dancers dressed in armor who engaged in dance and fictional fight scenes.

“I think she is one of the most singular, inspiring, powerful artists I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting, and I’m so excited because she’s gonna sing one of my favorite songs of all time,” Rodrigo said.

In fan-captured footage, the pop stars then launched into "Hot to Go!" while they jumped onstage and performed the song's signature dance moves.
