Wannabe socialite busted for ripping off luxury hotel, jet company

A grifter socialite armed with an alias and a taste for the high life was busted for ripping off a string of victims — including a pal for a stay at a luxury Moroccan hotel and a private jet company for flights she chartered.

Anna Sorokin, who goes by the name of Anna Delvey, was picked up in Los Angeles Tuesday by NYPD cops.

Sorokin allegedly promised to take a friend on a six-night jaunt to a Marrakech resort but paid with a debit card she knew would be declined, authorities said. Her pal ponied up $62,000 for the stay in an opulent villa with a private pool and butler under the condition that she be reimbursed. But Sorokin never paid her back, authorities said.

On another trip to Morocco, Sorokin allegedly stiffed Sir Richard Branson’s five-star resort Kasbah Tamadot out of a $20,000 bill, a law-enforcement source said.

Standard rooms at the swank hotel, which was voted one of the Best Resort Hotels in Travel + Leisure magazine, start at $650 a night.

Sorokin is also accused of cheating private jet company Blade out of a $35,000 payment for ferrying her in a private plane to Berkshire Hathaway Annual shareholders Meeting in Omaha, Neb., officials said.

In yet another scam, the 26-year-old allegedly tried to swindle $22 million from two banks by falsely claiming she had $60 million tied up in overseas accounts, prosecutors charge.

Cops tracked her to the West Coast after she failed to show up to court last month for a prior case where she ran up bills at two Manhattan hotels and skipped out.

The blue-eyed blond was hiding out at a Malibu rehab facility, the source said.
Sorokin was first arrested last summer when she allegedly checked into the luxurious Beekman for 10 days then took off without paying her $11,518 tab, a criminal complaint charges.

Her next stop was the W New York-Downtown for a two-night stay in July. She then sneaked out of the Financial District hotel without settling her $503.76 bill, court papers say.

Sorokin, who has been photographed posing with models at Paris Fashion Week and a gala at Sotheby’s New York, also faces a rap for trying to dine and dash at the Le Parker Meridien in Midtown.

Defense lawyer Todd Spodek said his client denies the charges.

“At this juncture, not a single allegation against Ms. Sorokin has been proven,” the attorney said. “I have yet to see any evidence that it was her intention to avoid payment for any services or goods.”

She was indicted by a Manhattan grand jury and is expected to be arraigned later this week on multiple counts of grand larceny and other raps.

Representatives for Kasbah Tamadot and Blade didn’t immediately return requests for comment.
