Catalan mediation
Dear Amir,

The various Catalan supporters and groups, from individual users like Capsot to Amical to the proposed WM-CAT group, are variously prolific and fiery. After following their work more closely for the past year, it seems to me that the discussion about how to empower and support their work needs, above all else, a good mediator -- someone who represents neither the Catalan supporters nor the Foundation and Chapters. Do you have interest and time to consider mediating?

We are in the middle of relevant discussions about how to support global cultural groups of Wikipedians, including those without a state and those which don't map neatly onto a geography. The Catalan group is a good example because of their strong internal unity, and their excellent work. This is the right time to define and suggest changes that will improve the movement as a whole, using this case as an example, if only we can avoid stumbling over personality conflicts in the process.

I hope this finds you well, and to see you soon -- this summer at the latest! –SJ · talk | translate 04:56, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

Interwiki synchronization/Black box

Hello, I've change in French the status of the fr:Boîte noire page, to make the disambiguation only in fr:Boîte noire (homonymie) ... and I find the interwiki synchronization page just after.

Any way, I'll try to make correctly the link, but I think the that the article boite noire have to make the link with the Computer science and philosophy section. fr:boite noire (cybernétique) and fr:boite noire (psychologie) have to be fusion in fr:Boite noire, like in English, and I'll try to make the necessary in the French wiki.

Tell me if that solution make any problem. (On the french wiki or by mail if you can, but I'll try to remember check on mediawiki to ;). Smily 20:00, 6 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Your answer needed

Hello Amire80!
There are a few unanswered questions on Talk:Language committee. As a member of the language committee, I am kindly asking you to reply to the users' concerns posted there. Please don't be offended if the tone of my last posting there sounds a bit harsh, as I was a little disappointed because some questions weren't responded to in a while. Thank you!

Hi Amir! Please note that there are some unanswered questions on Talk:Language committee. As a member of the language committee, I kindly ask you to post a reply. Thanks, Candalua 18:17, 15 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi! Thank you for your quick reply! :-) I'm not sure of a thing: is it enough to translate only the messages in the "Extensions used by Wikimedia - Main" group, excluding the larger "Extensions used by Wikimedia"? If so, then they're complete! Are we ready for the approval? Candalua 22:22, 16 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
No - "Extensions used by Wikimedia" is the group that has to be 100% translated, but it's already at 97.97%, so you can get there very quickly.
"Extensions used by Wikimedia - Main" is a group that will be used in the future. I'm sorry about the confusion in the meantime. --Amir E. Aharoni 00:25, 17 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
Ok. Honestly I doubt that we will ever need some of the extensions... It looks like a waste of time to translate certain messages, also given that many of them are continuously changing (for example the flagged revs), but anyway now they're all translated. Eco's quote

Hi Amire80. I wrote to Eco to ask him permission for using his quote, he didn't reply yet. If it will, I will ask him also for translations ;-) Bye. --Aubrey 12:58, 22 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Talk:Language committee#Suggestion

Hi, Jahrusalem. We met in Gdansk, in the last Wikimania. But i'm (i support your idea to not use "I", but "i") here to talk about the requests for new languages. First, i would like to thank you for your collaboration in the language committe. This seems to be a wise choose, as i know how you love and support languages. As you already know, i've made requests for wikisource and wikinews in Esperanto. i won't ask you to get me ahead in the line, this would be unfair. All i want is that you complete (accept/reject) the requests before these, and then, in the right time, i wanna help to provide what's necessary for that approval. Now the eo.ws has 100% of the required translations, and 3 or more active users in seven months in the last eight. But that isn't the point. i'm worried about "verify test project content with a reliable neutral source, such as a professor or expert". Is this something we, in the project, have to provide? should we ask the internacional associations or will you do that? is there something we can do to prepare ourselves for the next criteria? Thanks in advance. Oh, i almost forgot it. If i can do anything for help you with the other projects, it would be a pleasure. Please see my suggestion above. Привет. Как насчёт своевременного обновления секции Upcoming (перенос записей из Pending в Approved) при получении окончательного одобрения Совета поверенных, на указанной странице? --Arseny1992 07:51, 28 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Translation Update

I want to thank you for your help translating throughout this year's fundraiser. The fundraiser has greatly benefited from all your contributions. Currently, the Kartika, Liliaroja, Abbas and Joan Gomà appeals need to be translated, as we are running appeals from editors. You can find all translation requests at the translation hub on meta and you can follow the progress of the fundraiser in real time by tracking the fundraiser statistics. It is important to check the Core Messages as many languages still need updating. Also if you haven't already, you can subscribe to the translators-l mailing list for all new requests and major changes. Many thanks for your help in truly making this a global fundraiser that you can edit.Klyman 19:31, 7 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

I am on translators-l - how else would i be the first who translated Lilaroja and Kartika? ;) --Amir E. Aharoni 23:01, 7 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Латгальская, кабардино-черкесская и вепсская вики

Приветствую! Я бы хотел поинтересоваться, что еще необходимо латгальской и кабардино-черкесской викам, что сейчас в Инкубаторе (wp/ltg, wp/kbd) для их "выхода в свет" из Инкубатора (сообщения переведены, активность полным ходом? А также "to verify as eligable" вепсскую заявку на страничке Requests for new languages, если это возможно (активность уже три месяца, сообщения переведены), также что еще нужно для ее рождения (wp/vep)?. Спасибо за вашу помощь.--Andrijko Z. 17:42, 13 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Латгальскую и кабардино-черкесскую мы уже обсуждали. Нам надо ещё кое-что уладить, но они, корее всего, выйдут в свет в ближайшие недели.
Вепсскую - проверим, спасибо что напомнил. --Amir E. Aharoni 06:00, 14 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thank You

I wanted to personally thank you for your help with Russian translations during this year's fundraiser. I really appreciate your assistance in getting messages translated and pushed out quickly! Thanks again - Deniz (WMF) 21:06, 26 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
