As much as I love Álvarez’s style and this is definitely one of the better entries into the franchise… It’s just kind of the same shit.
For most of the film nothing new or original is introduced to us other than its presentation. Alien: Covenant felt like a Requel, and this also feels like a Requel.
I really wasn’t that engaged especially when they rehash iconic lines from the originals, so audiences can get their fan-service and point to the screen like…
Love Lanthimos quirky filmmaking and comedic direction. McNamara’s screenplay is an extremely strong adaptation. The film covers many different themes. Classism, Feminism, Toxic Traditions, etc… all executed impeccably.
This was a blast!!
Not to mention, Emma Stone pushes her acting abilities to new heights here. She covers new ground never tackled by her prior to this. She was absolutely amazing.
