Vicky Cristina Barcelona

Vicky Cristina Barcelona

Rewatching this movie made me think about how almost all of us become adults who are selfish in our peculiarities and often don't even realize this fact. Furthermore, it manages to portray a search for pleasure that the characters seek in art/culture, even creating a certain strangeness due to some existing differences.

I particularly like the dynamic between Maria Elena and Juan Antônio, it always seemed so energetic even though it was made to show a "disguised agony" of ex-lovers. I've never been around to watch anything Woody Allen does, but this movie is a huge exception, maybe because I like the drama between cigarettes and landscapes.

To conclude, I identify much more with Maria Elena than with Vicky or Cristina but I always see jokes about how: "I could fix Maria Elena" and then maybe I need to be fixed too. I assume I really need to be a fixed woman.
