Flint, MI — The City of Flint has restored online bill pay services following an August cyber attack.

According to a Sept. 6, 2024 press release from Flint Mayor Sheldon Neeley’s office, residents can now pay water, sewer, and tax bills online.

The system was shut down after an August 14 cyber attack caused telephone systems, online services, and meeting cancellations.

On Sept. 6, a one-month grace period was given to allow residents to pay outstanding bills, now that all normal payment options have been restored. According to the Sept. 6 press releases, the City of Flint will not apply late fees or conduct shutoffs for nonpayment until October 7, 2024.

Officials also said that the city is nearing full restoration of its phone system, though testing is still ongoing throughout Flint City Hall and other facilities.
