Lisa Murkowski

  • Lisa Murkowski (born) May 22 1957 is the junior United States senator from Alaska. She was an attorney in Anchorage, Alaska from 1985 to 1998. She also served, from 1990 to 1991, on the mayor's task force on the homeless. In 1998 she was elected to the Alaska State House of Representatives, and served there until December 2002, when she was appointed by her father, governor Frank Murkowski to his own unexpired senate seat. She has not yet been elected in her own right.
